No the rags always ask for City to be away from home,
and for the last game of the season too ideally.

Possibly, although I don't fancy a tricky away game to start after the Euros and a minimal pre season.

We have in the past when the pitch is still recovering from the summer gigs, and we probably have this year as a result of the building works associated with the North Stand expansion.

Usually makes ours. All are rivals desperately want us to drop points before we play them and each win deflates them a little more. Love it.End of January through February we play Chelsea at home, Arsenal away, Newcastle at home, Liverpool at home and Spurs away.
That's the kind of run that can make or break a season.
I'm sure Chelsea will be thinking exactly that but to an even greater extent than usPossibly, although I don't fancy a tricky away game to start after the Euros and a minimal pre season.

Well yeah as we are the better team with a better squad. They will also see it as probably the best time possible to play us. After internationals in the summer we usually stumble into the community shied and that game is the first minutes some players get.I'm sure Chelsea will be thinking exactly that but to an even greater extent than us

Which means of course that City haven't opened a campaign with a home game in the last 8 seasons. I can't imagine any other team has done that.
And an away game to end the season too.
One contributing factor to that... City were scheduled to start 2020-21 with a home game and United with an away game, but both were postponed because of the delayed Champions League and Europa League tournaments from the season before. City should have been at home to Villa and United away to Burnley.

TBF, we are probably largely responsible for that. City nearly always put in a request to be away first game as there are events at the stadium across the summer and the pitch needs extra time to prepare after that. The default logic in the system is that if there are two teams from the same city, one is at home and one away each weekend. Hence, if City have requested an away game every time then United must be at home.
Not everything is a conspiracy.
I wonder how many key players will
actually start the first few games for us & others.
Some of our key players will be exhausted after euros & last season.
Jack, Alvarez, haaland & Nunes should be ready to fly. We might actually be in a strong position by end of September
