TV is dying.

57 channels and there’s nothing on
There's loads of channels on, shopping channels! Whether it's some useless kitchen gadget that will be bought and placed in a drawer, never to see the light of Day, or a piece of shite jewellery. Your other half loves shopping channels whilst your asleep. That 'bargain' "I've never seen that dress before, love" ..... "I've had it ages dear"....

And then the rest,,,, the soaps and reality TV.

That's Freeview tv: /

There is some very good T.V if you look. Just in the last few months, Black Earth Rising, Killing Eve, Little Drummer Girl , all excellent.

There is some good stuff (Black earth rising was pish mind) but it’s lost amongst the utter drivel that get churned out. Too much reality wank, too much ‘celebrity’ programming - who the fuck wants to watch the shite about celebrities kids? Corrie lost its humour when jack and Vera croaked and has become a forum for so called life issues.

TV is going through a golden era! Certainly for drama and big budget shows.

Have you watched any of the following: Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Big Little Lies, The Wire, Peaky Blinders, Narcos, Sharp Objects, True Detective, Killing Eve, End of The Fucking World

Just a number of shows off the top of my head I’ve enjoyed over the last few years.

I rarely watch TV these days, much prefer the radio. There's some outstanding stuff on the BBC sounds thingy. If I do watch TV then it's sport and history. Like a bit of comedy as well. 8 out of ten cats does countdown, taskmaster that sort of thing.

The rest?

The missus watches loads of shite and I love walking into the TV room and asking all kinds of mundane questions...

"Who's that?"
"Why's she crying?"
"What's wrong with her mouth?"
"Why are her tits 10 times the size of her body?"

That sort of thing.

If its documentaries and educational stuff BBC 4 has stuff on Science, Nature , History, Music , Arts. I find loads of stuff on there accidently and can get hooked for a whole evening.

Seems like Alan Partridge was a true visionary: his pitch for programmes like ‘Inner City Sumo’, ‘Youth Hostelling with Chris Ewebank’, ‘Knowing You, Knowing ME’, ‘Monkey Tennis’ and ‘Cooking In Prison’ (a dead cert!) would probably have been taken up by now by one of the terrestrial channels.
