Exactly. The ads have been noticed (if only for their sheer shiteness). So they've worked.

True; there is that point. But apparently the companies and the ad agencies are seemingly prepared to take that gamble. Either that, or they actually do believe that the said ads are actually good/popular!

Oh so you get him in England too? I live in Wales and wondered whether they did a special Welsh version to broadcast here (they are very offended by the mere existance of English people). I don't know what it says about the power of advertising but whilst I am pretty sure it advertises a shitty tabloid, I don't know which one. I do know I'd quite like to clump the Welsh bloke on the back of the head though.
