TV Series

I’ve watched the first two seasons of Mr Mercedes on the amazon channel, Starzplay.

The first season was riveting viewing but the second descends into silliness at times.

The death of Brady’s mother was one of the best death scenes I’ve seen on television.
It gets worse.

It is a trilogy of books by Stephen King. He writes supernatural thrillers. You either like his work or you dont I suppose. Silliness is part of the supernatural. I loved Mr Mercedes, brilliant books and great TV. Brendan Gleeson is great too, in everything he does

I love Stephen King but there are a few subplots in the second season that don’t go anywhere.

Ordinarily talk of a return for an acclaimed series like Dexter that really screwed the pooch in it's final seasons would not inspire much confidence they could add anything substantial to the overall storyline. However, the key here appears to be the showrunner (Clyde Phillips) from the first 4 seasons (Arguably the peak of the series) is significant.

Of course,it will eventually be 8 years since (Fall 2021) and his sister is dead, Doakes is dead & dad is apparently in heaven. So, not sure what the series will manage to do in the end
