Pretty poor if you ask me.

That’s brilliant. When I was younger (in Victoria’s reign ;-) ) I had holidays in all the areas I’ve seen so far in the first series. Mountain walking, climbing and just leisurely strolls were my perfect relaxation.Perfect slow tv. We liked one area we saw on this programme so much we booked a seaside cottage there in March.
Thats quite correct; she is brilliant in this.I’ve only seen the first episode so far and it’s so unwatchably heartbreaking and painful, and Maxine Peake so good at what she does, I’m not sure I can go back for a second bite. There but for the grace of God.
The books are like that, I gave up at whatever book I got up to.It was just too bloody confusing for me with the multiple timelines and not knowing which timeline i was watching half the time.
Thanks mate. Amble in Northumberland. It was Nick Grimshaw who did the walk. That’s brilliant. When I was younger (in Victoria’s reign ;-) ) I had holidays in all the areas I’ve seen so far in the first series. Mountain walking, climbing and just leisurely strolls were my perfect relaxation.
Enjoy your holiday. :-)
I really loved and was absolutely inspired by the first series of The Long Way Round. I really want to drive around Europe, then across America and then across Japan. It really changed something inside of me. Fantastic show.Just started watching Long Way Up, Charley Boorman and Ewan McGregor riding bikes from the tip of south America to Los Angeles. I watched the other "long ways" that they did and really enjoyed them as they spent a lot of time showing the countryside and meeting the locals. This time they are on electric bikes, the main focus is on "range anxiety" rather than the country or the people. After a while it gets boring listening to them go on about how much range they have and how far the next charging point is. That and mentioning the bikes manufacturer is boring. If they want to do something like that, use bikes that we can all buy, not prototypes which probably costs many thousands.
Needless to say I will not be watching the rest of the series.
I tried that but didnt like it, good story but I thought the acting and direction was poor. The daft son is a terrible actor.
Very good. 8/10
