The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart - 8/10 - watched this over a couple of evenings with the missus. Really good miniseries. Currently on Prime.
Very good, but a tough watch. Found these sort of things much easier to watch when I was younger. These days I prefer more lighthearted fayre. What do you think of it?
Yeh i enjoyed it. It's not as tough as Schindlers list however.Very good, but a tough watch. Found these sort of things much easier to watch when I was younger. These days I prefer more lighthearted fayre.
Been watching a couple of Aussie series, Black Snow was good and half way through Scrublands. Would welcome recommendations for anything else on similar lines
Underbelly is great , watched two seasons and didnt realise it continued , is it on netflix or something ?Try Underbelly if you haven't already seen it.
From an old Guardian review of Season 1:
'Underbelly is the ABC miniseries that chronicled the real-life story of the Melbourne drug wars of the 90s that claimed 30 lives, in which Carl Williams played a central role. Compared favourably by critics to The Sopranos, Underbelly is thrilling television; the carnival of grotesques that was Australian criminal royalty at the time is never less than compelling. Not merely a saga of coked-up trashy hoods, it's a modern-day parable on loyalty, betrayal and the corrupting influence of power.'
Seasons 2 & 3 are excellent too, as is Season 5 (which I'm half-way through at the moment).
Wasn't quite as impressed with Season 4 but that was still watchable.
Also, a big thank you to whoever it was that recommended Love/Hate on here a couple of months ago. Am still watching the final Season. The first two were good, but 3, 4 and now this last one have been exceptional.
There are some great characters, though my personal favourite has been Alan Price-lookalike 'Fran'.
NooooooooooooDoing a neighbours binge , like doing that on a sunday
BGT final tonite
Love island back tomorrow
Yeah i know !
Do you need to watch love hate from the start or could you just watch the latest season for example?Try Underbelly if you haven't already seen it.
