Squid game season 2 starts boxing day, I predict it will be absolutely shit. Show writer supposedly had no plans for a season 2 originally, It's here purely because it was too big not to have a follow up so I fully expect it to be really crap with perhaps a couple of interesting new games at best.

I wasn't far off. Very slow start, a lot of repeated filler with only minor changes that don't land the second time around. Even some of the characters they focus on are basically hust the same as season 1 characters just with a different face. The new games are beyond crap and there is some really stupid plot holes. The overarching story of searching for the people running the game actually has potential but it's reduced to such a tiny insignicant part of the season. Any "twists" were insultingly predictable and it ends as if they quite literally just cut the season in half at the last second

Landman, another excellent series by Taylor Sheridan.

He did all the Yellowstone stuff and prequels (a couple more in the pipeline too).

Did Mayor of Kings Town.

Landman is gritty Oil field stuff with Billy Bob Thornton, it's brilliant.

A year to wait to find out what happens next:

Squid Game is set to return for its third and final season in 2025, though the exact release date has not yet been revealed. However, the show’s creator has hinted that an announcement is expected “soon,” as the third season has already been filmed. Hwang told Variety. “But what I can say is, after season 2 launches, I believe we will be announcing the launch date for season 3 soon. I probably expect that to launch around summer or fall next year.”

I'll likely see it through but I can't say that I'm especially eager for the next season right now. I saw it say the last season will come in 2025 at the end, I kind of just assumed it would be next years Christmas release too.
