Nothing wrong with that of course. Chick flicks is a genre. Some of these shows are. Its based on a book that was similarly so
Ive just watched Georgia and Ginny, reluctantly at first, but it turned out to be very entertaining!Nothing wrong with that of course. Chick flicks is a genre. Some of these shows are. Its based on a book that was similarly so
Great backdrop, good story, heavy on BLM & religious dialogue of the times, but Ethan Hawke acts his socks off.Has anyone watched the Good Lord Bird on sky Atlantic?
I agree, I think it's excellent. The way they start out with seemingly unconnected characters and events and then the whole thing starts to weave together. It's great story-telling, great screenplay and great acting.I’ve just watched episode 4 of Unforgotten and a very enjoyable watch it is!
I agree about the storyline being very similar to previous, however I thought it was a cracking series. Excellent acting, good characters, and personally I thought the ending was incredibly moving.
I'd say even less mate but maybe that's down to my short span of attention ;-).Just finished The Outsider after seeing some recommendations in here and the Top 100 thread. Not normally my kind of thing but it was decent and had some great performances, a really strong cast and with adaptation writing from Stephen King’s original novel by the brilliant Richard Price and Dennis Lehane. But boy was it slow. 10 episodes that could easily have been boiled down to six.
Not seen this but the description put me in mind of the Adamsberg novels by Fred Vargas which have a vaguely supernatural bent, if you enjoy reading you might like themAnybody seen Black Spot on Netflix?
Only 4 episodes into the 1st series, but this is terrific so far. French series set in the town of Villefranche in a remote forested area. Very Twin Peaks-ish, but the female lead also gives it a Bridge/Killing vibe. Lots going on - new DA arrives to investigate the six-times national average death rate and there's a different case each week, but it all links back to a "something's wrong deep in the woods" kind of thing and there are constant flashbacks to something the police chief suffered 20 years ago.
Throw in some top-notch cinematography, lots of shots of misty mountains and forests and a spooky banjo-driven soundtrack and it's got me hooked.
