TV Series

Big call out to the Jeremy Thorpe drama on BBC - a very english scandal (I think?). Really brilliant and very funny. Ben Wishaw as Norman Scott and Hugh Grant as Thorpe were outstanding. Defoe worth a watch wether you remember the incident or not.

It was excellent and Grant was superb in the role and I’m not usually a fan. Funny to think Grant and Wishaw had similar roles in Paddington Bear together, although I’ve been reliably informed that paddington was not based on a true story.

Started rewatching Goliath season 1 seeing season 2 is out in a few weeks and have to say second time around it still brilliant.

Just watched the finale of The Americans. What a brilliant, brilliant show. Lump in the throat watching the last half hour.

Marvels cloak & dagger just landed on amazon prime, and is gettinggood reviews, if it is true to the comics it should be a decent outing for marvel tv

Also Condor out today

A young CIA analyst Joe Turner, whose idealism is tested when he joins the CIA hoping to reform it from within but stumbles onto a terrible but brilliant plan that threatens the lives of millions.

also has anyone seen Impulse

Based on the third novel in the Jumper series by Steven Gould, Impulse features a rebellious 16-year-old girl who has always felt different from her peers and has longed to escape from her seemingly quaint small town. When a local drug dealer attempts to assault her, she discovers she has the extraordinary ability to teleport. This newfound power confirms her conviction that she really was different from everybody else, but it now makes her the focus of those who want to control her.

Have started Sopranos again and in the space of a couple of weeks am up to episode 1 of Series 3. It really does stand out from just about everything else, every episode is excellent. One thing I had missed or forgotten amongst the phenomenal storylines, acting and writing, was the use of music to illustrate scenes. At the moment I have to say its the best series ever to be on TV.
RIP James Gandolfini.
Agreed. Best ever, followed closely by The Wire

Anybody watching series 2 of westworld? I’m saving them up to binge but not heard a great deal about how they are living up to series 1.

Yeah it's decent, playing out the aftermath and the chaos in the park(s), more violent that season 1 and has a nod to futureworld in the arc.

Have not watched this weeks yet, i have really enjoyed this season (not as much as the first) feels like the pieces are just dropping into place after a obscure and winding start (part of its appeal)
