TV Series

I suppose it depends on your tastes. If you're looking for action every episode, then that's not Bosch. It's more like The Wire, just corruption and showing different characters personal struggles in their work and lives.

Fair enough. Will give it another eventually. I might be the only person who has never seen The Wire. Should probably adjust my expectations a bit to a more story driven show.

Ok well stop what you're doing, and watch The Wire :D

It starts of slowly, but try and follow the characters and once you do that and understand the extent of what is happening, you'll love it.

A lot of USA programmes recommended on here. I've tried to watch a few including Succession but I find most Yank series include a lot of "padding". As an example goi g back a few years the U.K. Mad Dogs first series lasted four episodes whereas the USA version which followed the same storyline was 10 episodes long.

Currently enjoying The Serpent made by the BBC and Netflix, very good cast and loosely based on a true story (apparently).
I always think the American programmes start getting a bit silly with their story lines after about Series 4 n’all.

They can never finish anything after two to four series, or keep things going at a sensible pace.

Agree, one US series I enjoyed was Homeland but it went well off beam after about three series, just got totally ridiculous.

A bit old now but I missed it the first time around, I've just completed downloading My Name is Earl. Enjoyed the first couple of episodes so it'll give me a bit of light relief rather than the more serious stuff I've been binging on.

I like a lot of U.S programs but they just fill it with a load of meaningless crap sometimes.
Serial killer on the loose, two detectives on the case and I don't give a shit that your wife and kids have made a meal that you didn't turn up for.

Brilliant series, I have the lot to watch again too. Probably one of only a handful of comedies to actually make me laugh out loud, and wince, in recent years. Catalina isn't too hard to look at, either.

Pretty much like most cop shows, nearly all divorced these days and most in the UK are investigating a murder, miss coppers chasing bad guys. Sweeney used to be great, good guys chasing the underworld, heavy drinkers, criminal slapping adulterers.

Life on Mars, "you're surrounded by armed bastards" great programmes, escapism with a bit of humour chucked in.

Just watched It’s a Sin on more4. I thought it was excellent, Russell T Davis is such a good writer, he even threw a bit of Doctor Who in it!

Damn, you've just reminded me that although I watched (and enjoyed) Life on Mars, I never watched the follow up, Ashes to Ashes. Just checked and it's on Netflix, excellent stuff.

Ashes to Ashes early first series is not quite as good as LOM, still well worth a watch though, there's some funny banter between Hunt and "Bolli (Bollinger) Knickers" Keeley Hawes and the series gets better and better.

Series two and three were very good with some spine tingling scenes, you're in for a treat, 24 episodes. Have your rewind button ready for series one episode 8 that's all I'm saying, the last ever episode is brilliant, enjoy.

Does it actually get better. Season 1 was really laboured in my opinion and 3 episodes into season 2 was feeling the same. It must get better to get the reviews it had?
I'll be honest mate, I thought season 1 was fairly average. I enjoyed the books though so kept with it. Season 2 was good, gradually getting better as it went on and I felt seasons 3 and 4 were excellent and where it felt like the show had properly found its footing.
Not seen 5 and 6 yet. If you're a fan of the books I'd definitely stick with it, it really picked up for me.

3 episodes into narcos mexico. Season 1 and 2 of narcos were superb, but the third series was a bit of a let down. But we are now back on form in mexico.

so .. next project will be Top 100 TV Series

can you help out the criteria, do we include everything including soaps?
That is going to be hard going for you. Sometimes individual seasons are better than some eg: Dexter season 4 is a 10/10, but season 7 and 8 are terrible.
