TV Series

@Coatigan

Just finished the first series of Better Call Saul. Fantastic - really enjoyed it and once again, not what I thought it was going to be. Especially after what happened in the first two episodes where he ran into the Mexican drugs guy. I thought, "here we go" on the road to Saul Goodman. But no, in a nice surprise, the show seems to be content in meandering it's way towards where we know it will eventually end up. It's one of those slow-burn approachs that really works and the character of Jimmy McGill is being nicely fleshed out as we go along. Really odd sub-plot with his brother but even this has a nice pay-off by episode 10.

I know I'm about six years behind on this, but that means I have a lot of great TV between now and Christmas.

Glad you liked it, I imagine over a few more episodes you may stop looking for thhose turns to Saul. Breaking bad is big landslide slips to the main character, BCS is more a gradual erosion of his. Must be nice knowing there is still a fair bit to watch.

I finished Season 2 For All Mankind on AppleTV. It was very good.
Agreed, I preferred it to the first one. The characters and events are incredibly well written. It makes recent Star Trek look like a deluded fan fiction. The political alternate history put a lot of people off at first, lots of folk kneejerking and calling it SJW pandering, but it wasn't really that clear cut for most of the first series. It was alternate history. Not wish fulfilment. And we had anything but lefty pandering this time around with Reagen in charge. They clearly showcased a lot of his best qualities.

Finished Kin last night, really enjoyed it, great last episode, well worth it for anyone who enjoyed Love/Hate.

I recommended this when it started a few weeks ago after the first episode as I thought it would be like Love/Hate
However, I found it very slow and drawn out and not a patch on L/H
Ive not watched the last episode so hopefully it ends on a high.

It's different but set on the same streets which is what I meant, true it's slower, more insight into the family dynamics. Anyway I'm sure you'll enjoy the finale.

Season two of Locke and key is out loved the first season
Just finished season 2. Happy to report that it was much better than season 1 for me (though checking on IMDB it seems not everyone feels that way) and thought it had a much creepier vibe about it than season 1. More true to the source material.
