Er, they have a case going through at the moment which might end up exonerating them and, therefore, suing the programme makers. To do with new discovery on sexual abuse from their "father" which drove the murders.

Ye saw that on tv this morning, there is another film on Netflix which talks to them from prison so I’ll give that a go.
 
Still persisting with Rings of Power. I'm not a Tolkien buff, but its so difficult to keep track of all the threads and storylines as it feels a bit all over the place. One minute dwarves, next the elves, flip to something else and then something else. I find it very difficult to really understand whats going on when its so all over the place.

If you're not a Tolkien fan you will probably won't like it! Loved season one and I'll be starting season 2 soon

We watched the documentary last weekend.
I think that money was certainly " bonus" but I also believe the accounts of abuse.

I had some questions after the Netflix series eg why didn't they just leave, or even go to the Police? However, after watching the documentary I'm of the mind that the whole facade of the "perfect family" was incredibly multi layered and that even they struggle, even now, to share everything that went on.

Ye I think the Vanity Fair character summed it up well, either they are the best sociopathic actors or they are fucked up children from an abusive family, either of them is awful.

Started episode one of season 2 had to do something after 30 mins and have had zero inclination to go back, I just hasn’t grabbed me at all, I think I need to finish it just to see if it’s as bad as they say.

Yeah i can understand that. Its not that i'm not a Tolkien fan, loved the LOTR movies but i've never read the books or really delved into the detail of it. It feels like you need that deeper knowledge of middle earth to really go with the series and not be left a bit lost by it all.
 
Watched 'Capital' over w/end....pointless,nothing happened in it at all, spent the entire time waiting for it to start, then it was over!!
Then onto 'Ridley' ....First 2 episodes, like this sort of crime stuff, first was good, second was good but called it in first 5mins.

I’ve read the hobbit and LOTR as well as the movies, a lot of this series doesn’t seem to adhere to a lot of Tolkien stuff I wouldn’t worry about it, apart from a couple of characters which are present in those films I’d never heard of the rest.

I'm a Tolkien fan and struggled with it. Still only three episodes into series 2.
So whats good?
The visuals are pretty stunning and a shit load of money has been spent
Its good to see some of the Silmarillion 'come to life' .

Whats bad?
overlapping and confused storyline
dialogue (what say you my commander of the north armies - probably consistent with Tolkien at his worst but still..)
miscasting (difficult when you have such clear ideas from the book and films)

A brave attempt but no better than 5/10
