TV Series

Check out the links to see how it was filmed.

So interesting.

'Coronation Street' did the same thing 10 years+ back for a live special.

I haven't watched the show yet, but I thought it was something where the characters moved between large spaces. This is contained acting, like being on a stage. This is why they rehearsed so much and re-shot it when mistakes happened and why it has a 'claustrophobic' feel to it.

Okay, it's piqued my interest enough to have a gander later.

See above for context.
That’s irrelevant. Adolescence was filmed in one shot without cuts. Stephen Graham was on the radio this morning talking about how they did it. There's also behind the scenes videos about it. Thay had a system where a camera could be passed about and attached to rigs and a drone seemlessly.
Edit: sorry just seen the post above

To each their own. But after about 1/2 of the first season of The Wheels of Time the series became unwatchable. Full of special effect nonsense that wasn't at all special - but was instead, distracting or to me, off-putting; background graphics/scenery that was clearly off; and lousy character development/script. This last point - lack of interesting character interaction is a series killer for me.
Yup first season sucked but 2nd season was great and this season has started brilliantly

I’m biased because I can’t think of anything Gervais has done that I don’t like.

But I think for me, Extras possibly even tops The Office.

How he got some of those A listers to come on and take the piss out of the themselves, I don’t know.

Imagine even having the balls to ask De Niro to come on and have them take the piss out of him?

I think my favourite episode is the one with Kate Winslet though.

The guy is top notch, just rewatched After Life, brilliant, only series I didn’t like was Derek..

His MC at Oscars are always worth a rewatch

Agree with this, I read the books, or at least the first 9 or 10 of them, decades ago. Started off well, but eventually became a written version of lost, seemed the author didn't know where he wanted to go with it. I found the characters unrelatable compared to those in the novels

I thought it was great mate.
Well great acting anyway .. it's a dark story..

I don't think he did it.he changed his clothes early on and I think his mate did it wearing his clothes.

I don’t think i got past episode 1. It was so badly done and amateurish and when compared to say the lord of the rings series it was a million miles off it. Amazed anyone took to it really.

Adolescence sounds amazing BUT harrowing - not sure if i want to endure that
If it had focused on the victim and more specifically the family of the victim I could see how it could have been harrowing, but there is zero from their perspective.
Harrowing isn’t the word I’d use.
But it is brilliant, and 100% worth watching imho (and I had some doubts beforehand).

Severance … one episode left … of this series.
I suppose I should be grateful they’ve announced that there will only be one more series. My biggest gripe with series in general is producers/studios wanting to milk a cash-cow of a series so they go far beyond their shelf-life.

Still, looking forward to a few answers on Friday (then a load more questions!).

Started watching Severance, holy shit it is soo good, best TV I have seen for some time, also series 3 of the wheels of time has started really well
I think S2 has lacked some of the intensity and tightly-wound focus that S1 had - and no doubt it will be more so in the 3rd and final series - but you’re right, it’s still must-watch stuff, and then some.
