It was just weird. And I could pick holes in the story all the way through.
I'm not sure if it was trying to be a dark comedy or a shit drama/thriller

I'd say you're right on 'Boy Kavalier' actually reaching his nadir at the end. They kept him simmering just nicely.

I thought the show title was extremely clever and very layered in an onion type way as this episode went on.

In a way, like 'Andor', this show will be better 'discovered' if the second series kicks it up a notch. So, like your good self; here's hoping!

If they wish to rule then a second season should be action packed as Yuytani Waylen were flying to the island to take over.

There was only need for the usual alien and the eye guy.

The others were pointless imo. They only led to ridiculous stories imo and diluted the plot imo.

Okay, some of that might be fair from your point of view.

To me, introducing 'side aliens' that can be utilised further down the line is no bad thing. TV shows have side characters all the time that may be become prominent to promote for a storyline.

The 'Flies', for example, gave further reason for peril. The 'Venus Traps' may become significant, too.

I didn't mind it, myself.

Loved the early alien films, while watching the series was always thinking back to the alien film being two years after the this series and what was going on on Earth with the world regarding the androids, in the original film the android was a newer modal because the older modals “had problems” now is that a link to this new series? Not sure! This trillionair wanker though has the idea to transfer kids memories ’who are very ill and going to die into an android! The ship though that was sent out into space by this trillionaire to find new species of aliens is where I feel the series could take of as something total separate storyline! That new alien eyeballspider is brilliant great imagination by whoever come up with it. Just imagine going back to that planet to find more of them? Where what these could do is limitless as in taking over any person any animal! This series has set it up for something special if the writing is well thought out and written as good as this series!

I’ve not watched it but was possibly considering it.

Heard the first episode is good but then after that it’s dreadful. But yet people have stuck with it to the end so it can’t all be that bad?

Everyone says completely different things. Usually people follow a general opinion but with this reviews are all over the show.

One thing I don’t do is take anyone opinions on any film tv show! I watch them then make my own opinion on it, every persons has different preferences of viewing what they like! I see the marks out of 10 for films tv shows like 4/5/10 and then I watch it thinking then that was noway that bad..

Fully agree.

But there’s that much crap released now it takes a big effort from me to give a series ago.

So I tend to get a general consensus if something’s any good from, media reviews, friends/family, Bluemoon forum.
If all 3 are in agreement I finally give something a bash. Ha.

But with Alien Earth I can’t work out if it will be my next show.

I’ll prob just do the usual and end up watching the office to fall asleep to instead. ;-)

If you didn’t like the films don’t bother it’s not your genre! I absolutely loved the films even the later ones like alien vs predator I just like those B movies I use to watch as a kid..
 
Watched the first episode of the new series of Slow Horses last night.

Was a pretty intense start with the opening 'incident'.

I think I'm going to save it until all episodes are released though. The previous series have been brilliant, albeit the first had a slow start. Oldman is fantastic as always and there's a great script and some really light-hearted moments to go with the intense action and politically poignant themes.

Just felt watching the first one in isolation didn't work quite as well. I need to binge the thing when it's all released!

You know, I forgot it was supposed to be set before the first film. I think the writers forgot, too!

I didn't link it at all, just made it it's own separate entity cos, logically, some of it doesn't go together at all!!

I agree with you on 'The Eye' as I've been singing its creation praises from day one! Yes, the potential is awesome. I just hope the writers aren't afraid to go wherever they need to with it.

The next series (there's guarantee it will get one due to viewing numbers) is crucial and they can't rush it.

For me, if you move beyond just the Xenomorph predator we were introduced to, you will enjoy the universal expansion.

The expansive world is what a LOT of people are finding difficult to contend with.
