TV Series

Thanks for that, I never realised that there was a new season out. It's now added to my list for a few weeks time so that I'll be able ti binge the whole season.
It was released on the Israeli tv station Kan a while ago but was delayed everywhere else due to the Israel/Gaza conflict. You could watch it but it was heavily subtitled and not worth the effort but Apple have now released it properly

Took me a while to get through His and Hers on Netflix. Usually watch a show like that in a few days but this one just didn't grip me. Found the main characters deeply unlikeable. The pacing was all over the place. Really slow start, taking ages on rather inconsequential stuff then it just glosses over very big, key plot points. Talking of plot points, there were some enormous gaping holes in the plot, which i wont mention to avoid spoilers but much more than your typical slightly nonsensical show in this genre.

However, the ending did get me, perhaps it was because i had practically lost interest by then but i did not see the ending coming at all and for that reason alone it'll probably stick with me for far longer than better similar shows do.

Does the ending save it enough to be worth the watch? Probably not but I wouldn't instantly say avoid it like I would have done right up until the last episode.

Weren’t HBO supposed to be doing a series about the Spanish Civil War? Seems to have gone quiet but I’d love to see that

Read about this in the paper today.

Found the drama so watched a couple of episodes. Absolutely bonkers how they got away with this for so long. Police clearly didn’t do their job properly at the time.

Nesbitt unfortunately but worth a watch.

“The Secret” - first screened in 2016 but on Netflix and ITV X

Edit - Was up at 5.30am this morning thanks to dog wanting to go out so finished it off. 4 episodes in total.

Decent I thought

I've been watching "The Recruit" on Netflix lately.

It's about a mid-20 year old joining the CIA and what then ensues.

I nearly stopped watching this series after the first episode.. because it was obviously irrational.

But I stuck with it... and it's actually a pretty fun watch.

For sure, it's unbelievable on many points, but the plot and cast are good enough to make me overlook this obvious departure-from-reality flaw.

8/10.

How do I explain this...?

So, I watched the trailer for 'Spartacus: House of Ashur' and thought 'what a crock'!

The question is... is it...? I can't tell!

Besides the stupid premise for its reboot (f'kin flimsiest of flimsy reasons that doesn't have anything to do with the actual show), it bears all the hallmarks of the first season of 'Spartacus' where it wasn't great... but there's something there!

Okay, some of the fight scenes are questionable for obvious reasons, but the interesting thing is the build up of the main character, not really 'Mary Sue'-ing her.

Anyway, if any of the original watchers of the show are curious, you might see what I mean, but there's still a few eps left for it to completely f'k up.
