TV Series

24

Had the first seven series on dvd boxsets, unopened for years, as I am off work at the moment, I gave it a go.

Absolutely loved the first series, glad I could watch all of it, if I had to wait a week for each episode I'd probably have got pissed off and frustrated!

Onto series 2 now, finished the first disc (first 4 hours) and it's looking slightly more far-fetched but still great viewing.

24 is up and down mate, but overall its very good and was/is a ground breaking series. You have to forget how far fetched it can be at times (how many times can his daughter get kidnapped in 1 day??). I think 2 is one of the weaker ones, but after that the makers realised they needed a slight change of direction. Series 5 smashes it back to its best and is my fav day.

Well Love Film finally pulled their fingers out and sent me the second, and final disk of The Corner. It's a HBO mini series and it predates The Wire, same director etc. but sees the drug scene from the users point of view. The first three episodes were so good I couldnt wait to get the final 3 to see how it finished.

Even though I've only seen half of it, Id certainly recommended it.

I thought it might be a little too dark and depressing for me, at least in the Wire you have the police humour and stuff. Is it as bleak as it sounds?

Surprisingly, it's not that bleak. It's similar to The Wire and Im pretty sure there's a few laughs with the druggies stealing anything that moves!

Finished The Corner last night. Really would recommend it. It's a mini series, 6 programmes on 2 disks. It's HBO and is by the same people who went on to do The Wire with a lot of the same cast.

Watch it, you'll thank me for it.

Nice one, I'm getting involved

*Logs off for the first episode

It's excellent, one of the best in my book.
Once you see how great Walton Goggins is you'll be watching Justified.

Ray Donovan, Hollywood fixer for the rich and famous, only one series so far but pretty good.

Not heard of that one, any good? (;

Yep, right up your street I reckon

Sorry ham, was being a bit of a douche, have bleated on about it that much I was being sarcy

I think it's been the best opening season since the sopranos, john voights dance scene will live long in the memory!!!

Over the past couple of weeks I've started to watch:
Sleepy Hollow - Only watched the first two up to now, can't really get into it.
Person of Interest - It's ok, but I get the feeling after watching only 2 episodes they are all the same storyline.
Ray Donovan: Started to watch this last night, seems pretty good.

Hart of Dixie
New Girl
Scandal
Once Upon a Time
The Almighty Johnsons
Don't Trust the Screeching **** in Apartment 23

Are all shit.

Loving the blacklist so far. Like the style of episodic story telling with the mix of the continued story of Keen and her husband, just hope the running story gets bulked up a bit as it goes on.
