Just finished Boardwalk Empire, thought the finale was a bit lackluster, would've like a 2 hour special to properly tie things up but a very good series overall. Utopia was another good one which I finished last month. Pissed off to see that Channel 4 are axing it after just 2 series, IMO it was the best UK drama I've seen in ages so I'm scratching my head as to why they're scrapping it; because of poor viewing figures apparently...why not just have it as a Netflix exclusive or something then??? Wankers.

^^ HBO are apparently making a US version so that's a bit of a consolation, I suppose.
I think Utopia was fabulous but ran it's course. If anything it went on a bit too much in the end. I think the last 3 or 4 episodes should have led to a conclusion of the story and not just a lead-up to a not needed extra series. For it's story 2 seasons was more than enough. It was based on mystery and you can only draw that out so much before it gets ridiculous (which Utopia was in the end).

The Wire was the perfect length. Sopranos went on a season or 2 too long. Maybe crime dramas are more forgiving in that sense though.

Watching The Shield at the moment and it's great. I think it's 7 seasons long so I wonder if by end of season 4 I'll be thinking it's just on a spin cycle.

I don't think bobby is dead, in fact I'm sure of it

He was shown in the promos for 'next time on SOA' so that's a safe bet!

Starting to build towards the end of SOA now

Fuck - they killed off Bobby - no fucking need, could have taken one of the others out, Bobby deserved to live. Nobody is safe, everyone including children are going to die.

it's what I was alluding to when I said bobby wasn't dead.... He was always going to get it as it's sutters way of writing, did the same with lem in the shield...bobby is laertes from hamlet, the responsibility of death will fall right at Gemma's feet, her character now combines Claudius, Gertrude and laertes.... Extremely clever from Sutter, the end is going to be brutal!!!!!

4 more episodes, so there is going to be an Augustus backlash, finishing off of Lin, then the mother (see what i did there) of all endings.

You gave me hope that Bobby was going to live when you said he wasnt dead.

It's amazing how many great shows get cancelled because of ratings.. shows how many numpties watch TV

I read an interesting article not too long ago that explained that the ratings system (over here in yankeeland) is basically a crock of shit. Lately they have started to take into account the amount of episodes of shows that are streamed, DVR'ed etc and the ratings figures blow the 'official' ones out of the water. `

Too many good shows being cancelled when they are actually getting decent ratings.

FX seem to be the worst culprit of this.

A shit network.

Chicago PD is a strong show. Hams it up a bit at times, but the storylines and acting are generally pretty good.

Plus, Sophia Bush.

Agree with all the above, especially about Ms. Bush, dat husky voice.

Hate when US shows have a break mid-season though, like now.
