Try Quarry on Sky Atlantic - Not bad for an American show!
Ep 2 is really good
You are missing not just one of the greatest British shows, but one of the worlds greatest tv shows. I understand, I really do. A gangster film set in the 20s about Brummies sounds as appealing as eating chips n gravy whilst being back scuttled over a wheelie bin. I came late to it myself, purely because I didn't want to watch a show about scummy brummies. I'm old enough to remember Crossroads and that scarred me for life. In a way I'm glad I missed out, because it meant I had 2 full series to binge upon, and what a fucking binge it was. Girlbob! it is a fantastic show, and you will have the even greater pleasure of having 3 series to binge upon. Seriously Bobski, get on it. Peaky Blinders is magnificent. TV at its best. I once recommended a film to you, and when you eventually watched it you loved it. I'm talking about Odd Thomas. Peaky Blinders isn't in the same vein, and I know you love your supernatural vampire stuff, but it really is a fantastic show. Watch it Bob, I think you will love it.
With what you've said it looks like our tastes are very similar, they were also my top 3 shows with Peaky Blinders just pushing The Wire down to fourth, I thought it was that good.Well said mate, it was recommended to me by someone who is a bit of a cock and has got shit taste in just about everything he does, so I didnt watch the first series, but someone else said just give it a go, thats all I am saying, the same person said something similar about Breaking Bad to me during its first series, so I gave it a bash before the second series started. I am hard pushed to think of something better that has been produced in this country, its gone passed Luther and Sherlock and other recent hits IMO. It really is that good, maybe by the time it is done it will be up with my big 3 of The Wire, Breaking Bad and The Sopranos. Peaky Blinders, is brilliantly written and acted, has superb production values and has an absolutely fantastic array of characters. I cant recommend it enough.

Have you watched Gomorra?.......Just finished binge watching it and if you liked Sopranos it's right up your street, it's subtitled but easy watching with some great characters.
I always stayed well clear of anything subtitled because I thought it would spoil the entertainment side of the programme, but that all changed when I was told to give the original series of "The Bridge" a try and since then I've never really looked back.Yeah Zin was on at me to try Gomorrah but too much reading sort of spoilt the enjoyment, dont mind a bit of subtitles but I feel you miss a lot if you are constantly reading. Good show if not great for me, saying that I need to watch the second series of it.

Make sure you get season 2 of Gomorrah done in the next few months, I believe season 3 is due out in May. :-)
Hey mate I was a big fan of the past three series and was really looking forward to this season but due to living abroad I've missed them, overall are they as good? what direction did they take with watson'a wife, is she now a big part of it? Cheers mateWasnt a big fan of last week's installment of Sherlock, but this week was the best episode in years. Toby jones is one creepy bastard
I wont spoil anything, but last weeks was very mary-heavy, this week less so, which made it much better i thought. Its a bit more action packed, and the second episode is extremely dark and has a brilliant twist.Hey mate I was a big fan of the past three series and was really looking forward to this season but due to living abroad I've missed them, overall are they as good? what direction did they take with watson'a wife, is she now a big part of it? I was just on the Sundance channel website and there are a couple more on there that might be worth a look.
The Staircase, Hap and Leonard and The Last Panthers could be good just based on some of the actors in them.
I gave Hap and Leonard a go, watched it Sunday, finished the last 2 tonight only 6 episodes, was alright, worth a watch, but not earth shattering stuff
