So tell everybody what is your explanation of why Twattini has singled out Arab owners which is what Twattini clearly said.

Of course the club has had discussions with UEFA but if all is OK then there would be more positive statement coming out than this shit.
The lack of logic is yours not mine

IF HE had come out & said JEWS instead of Arabs there would be murders...

Twattini may be a twat but aint thick - he knew exactly what he said - of course he could not have said Jews and why would he as the Rags would mee the FFFP rules (the FFFP rules are designed explicitly to prevent sugar daddies buyng a City not prevent the rags and the established elite from qualifying) but he could have replaced Arab with the term "sugar daddies" thereby including Chelski whom would also not meet the FFFP but he chose not too.

This was not some off the cuff remark but a statement to RTL one of the major news agencies in the world and the idea that he would not have prepared or at very least considered what questions were likely to be asked and how he would respond is utterely naive.

As posted earlier however i believe that providing we maintian our CL status then i think that the FFFP rules have arrived a few years too late to prevent us from progressing.
I'd slightly disagree to be honest mate. It seems to me that the majority if times he refers to our owners he always uses the term "Arabs", almost disdainfully. He defines them by their race. He never says "the member of the UAE Royal Family" or "Sheikh Mansour" or even just plain old "the owners of Manchester City". Almost always he defines them with the term "Arab" and France has a longstanding suspicion of things North African/Middle Eastern.

In my humble opinion, not only is his dislike of us due to his status quo being disrupted but also what seems to be an undercurrent of thinly disguised racism.

I honestly think we won't see the worst of this agenda until we start winning things, the title etc.

The result at the weekend brought our progression and increased threat level to the eyes of the world.

It's the only reason Platini is talking again, because someone felt it pertinent to raise the issue on the back of the 6-1.

It's not UEFA we need to fear. It is the established elite, United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, all who could form a collective block of dissent.

I do believe Sheikh Mansour will eventually take us out of 'private' ownership and do a stock flotation in the Emirates.

I'm sure there are some like-minded friendly investors who will be more than prepared to take up the majority of the issue.

United have already explored this in the Far East to reduce debts.

We can do it to increase out balance sheet by a valuation of £500m tomorrow.

Job done.

'established elite'.......liverpool lol

which time warp is this in?

once yes but not now

A team that has won 5 European Cups still has plenty of kudos within corridors of power.

Especially if they are part of a voting block.

Why have I got this bad feeling that he's going to do everything in his power to get us points deducted in the league....... he shouldn't be allowed but we're talking about the most corrupt knob head in football here....

I wouldn't be surprised if he deducted points off PSG just so he could do the same to us....

As I posted earlier. FFFP only counts in European Competitions. Ultimately he can't have any influence over what we do in the Premiership. That includes continuing to spend money as the owners see fit.

Worst case scenario we're out of Europe for a few years. Success at home will continue. Revenue will increase, break even will happen....eventually. Should Platini then 'move the goal posts' further to exclude us further I would imagine his credibility to then be shot, and and at that point if we are continually successful then as a club our influence would be far greater. Also, in this scenario I do think the owners would fight fire with fire.

FFFP doesn't bother me. It was designed to halt City but the reality is clubs like Everton, Villa will never now be able to progress to the level we have. Guess every cloud has a silver lining. Thanks Michael.
spot on just look at how our income has increased year on year
the fact is we are now one of the top clubs in the world,

I think this is being largely ignored by the media, and the football world in general. Without exact figures to hand were we not around the 10th highest revenue earners of clubs worldwide last year? That without the Etihad Sponsorship, record finish in the Premiership for which we received around £50m I believe, Winning the FA Cup worth I think £5m and a Champions League Campaign to further boost the pot. Couple that with valuable new strategic commercial partners, increased revenue streams & succes on the pitch attracting a new, wider fan base then I guess the future does look blue after all.

Like I've said FFFP doesn't bother me. In Sheikh Mansour and Bobby Mac I trust.

WTF has us and psg being top of our respective leagues got to do with him anyway? Why has this triggere this reaction from Platini when this is supposed to be about protecting clubs from bankruptcy?

FFS get with it - Twatini is only concerned about maintaining the status quo of the current system thereby ensuring that the CL cash cow which is what keeps UEFA aflot is maintained

City / PSG and other potential clubs with mega rich owners Malaga potentially spoil that - the FFFP is a means of ensurng that

Teams that finish top o their league will qualify for the CL thats why he has responded.
No shit. But this is the first time his reasoning has become transparent...
These quotes will be filed by City's lawyers for future reference.

The thick bastard has left a great big question mark over his true motivations. The fucker is just plain ignorant. Won't look at all good in court.

2) On hold. Official explanation is "market conditions" but persistent rumours that no one is interested at the price they're asking and the terms 9non-voting shares)
Isn't that what "market conditions" generally means?
i.e. we're skint so give us money, oh you're skint too are you we'll come back later

And English, American, German, and in fact anything not French. Which is why he seemed to deflect criticism about PSG onto us

And it's just a few days since the 50th anniversary of the Parisian police throwing protesting Algerian Arabs into the Seine. Lest we forget.
