Two Games in 48 Hours

Marvin is 100% right with his appraisal. I also agree that all teams are in the same boat and the advantage to us is the strength of of our squad.

I personally would be very surrpised if there aren't significant changes between the 2 games. Certainly that is the indicator from last year when Pellegrini made 6 changes from the team that played Liverpool to the one that struggled against Palace.

At the back Zab, Lescott and Kolorav were replaced by Clichy, Nasty and Boyata. In the middle and up front Nasri, Ya Ya and Negredo were replaced by Milner, Garcia and Dzeko. He used 3 subs in the game - Negredo, Nasri and Kolorav.

Interestingly YaYa was on the bench and not used.

Sorry if asked before but does anyone know when the suspension for 5 bookings is lifted

Think Ya Ya on 4 not sure about Mangala whether he is on 3 or 4

think its due soon

31st Dec, those two mentioned plus Kompany are on 4.

Mangala has had 6 yellows including including the red card for the 2nd yellow card offence at Southampton. One of the six was the Sheff Wednesday cup game. Not sure how the tot up works because of the automatic suspension after the Southampton game. Any ideas?

The 2 yellows are turned into a red, therefore don't count as he's served a suspension for it, so it becomes 4.

Makes me laugh how some people totally dismiss human biology in favour of "He gets paid X so should be able to do Y!".

FYI - The bodies recovery rate has not yet been linked to weekly or annual earnings.

If the player is back to full fitness 2 days after playing then fine. If not, and we field a team, half of whom are only 90% fit, we risk losing a game. The premier league is unforgiving and no matter how good your team is, playing half a team who are even slightly off full fitness can cost you.

The thing sitting in our favour is that West Brom are likely to be in the same position, if not worse, because their recovery may be slower due to getting paid even less! ;)

Without the strikers available it s getting difficult to kiill early Fridays match and save energy for the next one but you ll never know...
Sinclair is not a bad sub..He did quite well in the summers preparation
I m afraid of the counter attacks ..a lot of players get in the box trying to score.
We are on top without strikers and without scoring from set pieces...Amazing

Be prepared for ref mistakes against us this time

Swap full backs and have lampard start one of the games, I think every member of our team will be dying to play both matches cause of the way we are playing at the minute. The players will be up for the challenge, two very winnable games the fixture list has been kind for a change. Manny will pick the best available team for both fixtures back to back titles is a real possibility this season and he will know we can't afford too many slip ups.

Its debatable whether Lampard should start in one of the games or just use him in every game for the last 30 mins. Fernando will start in at least one game, probably at WBA.
