Two more retail companies look doomed

Mate of mine went to the Trafford Centre recently. Dead

Wiko on the brink of collapse. Administrators brought in.

400 shops and 12,000 staff at risk
Sad news.

I imagine having too many stores in low footfall areas combined with high rent was a key factor. I personally don't think they did much wrong with most stores looking modern and offered "order online, collect in store". High streets are just dead.

Cost of raw materials and production are through the roof in China, so would have been tough to keep prices down whilst maintaining a healthy margin.

Went to visit my mum last Saturday. she lives in Langley and on my way home in popped into Middleton Arndale and went into Wilko's to get a couple of bits. it was about 2.30pm and it was absolutely dead inside, In fact the whole Arndale was almost empty.

I really couldn't belive it for a Saturday. The high street is dying a slow and painful death
