They invented these rules unfortunately

1 : All other clubs are doing the same at their level - however they won't piss on each other's doorstep only ours

2: Liverpool were grassed up by the parents themselves because they renaged on a deal not another club grassing them up .

3: It's effectively a one years ban

4: Biggest impact will be on current under 14s and u15s. However for all we know club may already have this covered and have players already signed ready for next year... not sure of rules

5: it's is even harder to sign foreign players before the age of 16 - can't see too many extra coming in. UEFA/FIFA will be all over us

6: great chance for players to play up or on fringes to impress - hope they step up.

7: it's a storm in a teacup and will have little overall effect- we already have most of the best players.


8: the rules stink anyway. So long as compo is paid to clubs - especially lower league clubs so what . Parents and players should be allowed to play for and speak to whoever they want . Youth football in akin to serfdom and bonded education

That article says it's 2 years this ban with an extra one year suspended in case we go and mess up again.

This ban will last for two years. The period of this ban from 30 June 2018 onwards will be suspended for three years to be activated in the event of any similar breach by the club.

I read that as meaning a 1 year ban from 30th June 2017 to 30th June 2018 and then the other year suspended for 3 years from that date. I might be wrong though.

No it's two years, read the quote "three years suspended".
