He should have bids on the table on january 1st. No excuse
There more holes in the squad than in nunes socks! One fucking forward in the squad
He should have stopped the second. Go and watch it back. Tried to back heel it, awful decision makingHe’s been an excellent signing apart from a run of games in November and December recently. He was back to his best today.
He should have agreements in place with clubs and agents before Christmas, bids accepted officially 1st Jan and players signed up 2nd/3rd.He should have bids on the table on january 1st. No excuse
He could've been told he's leaving at the end of the season. If he’d been sacked he wouldn’t still be in the job.
Its a bit like the Rodwell/Garcia/Sinclair summer. We got so much right in the seasons before then. Then had a huge brain fartWrong to just blame Txiki for the transfer decisions. He's just one cog in a machine.
It has seemed like something changed 3 years ago. Before that the club were almost surgical like in the transfer market. No fuss. We got who we wanted quickly and efficiently.
Then we started being haphazard in our approach. Random bids for players like Rice with no hope of success. Going for below par players like Phillips and Nunes.
One full backOne fucking forward in the squad
Whether people like it or not our tixi or whatever he is called has totally dropped the ball and sent us years backwards now with an aging squad who in their day where the best in the world by a mile to now looking at mid table best player his season . Glad he is going but he has left us with a massive rebuild .he and his scouts decided Nunes is the signing that is going to help us after we missed out on Bellingham, Rice, Paqueta. a year after they decided Kalvin Phillips will be a shrewd signing.
now we are paying the price for these transfers on the pitch while we still pay their hefty amortized fees for them for a bit more years.
to be fair losing patience with Doku as well if he is ever gonna be a great winger for us scoring/assisting regularly as his off the ball play is a big weakness already and not much in the offensive side of his games this season.
IfHe could've been told he's leaving at the end

You don’t give a years notice to someone you don’t want anymore. He could've been told he's leaving at the end of the season.
The players should already be here on January 1st. We can sign players whenever we want, we just have to wait until the registration windows is open before we can register them and use them in games. The need has been evident and obvious for some time, so there is no reason to why any potential targets would arrive late in the window. He should have bids on the table on january 1st. No excuse
I think I was a mutual parting, put out by the club as Txiki retiring.
Recruitment and transfer decisions have been very poor over the last 2 seasons
Some important things to note here that have to be constantly pointed out:With that said, if the last 2 years windows is anything to go by anything but a last minute panic buy would be a surprise. Txiki has been brilliant over the years but unfortunately it seems like he semi-retired when we won the treble. At least that what its seems like judging by his transfer business since then.

Again, this man is in charge of every football department and not just transfers. The entire direction of the club is down to him and we're the country's most successful club during his tenure here. I honestly don't know what some of you lot are thinking.
- Txiki's job is not solely or even primarily about transfers. The Director of Football is essentially the head of the entire football operation over the medium to long term. That is how they are judged - if the club has been a success over the medium/long term and not whether they "had a good window" or if we lost a few games. People who do not judge him on this criteria do not understand his role and may as well be blaming him for the beer being shite
- City won the Treble having the best squad in the world with players inherently trusted by the manager. People talk about Nunes and Phillips and the like as if they were our July 1st signings. They were not. The quality needed to improve that squad was so high that there were only a few players in the world worth it such as a Rice or a Bellingham, both of which we were in for. They chose to go to other clubs. We chose to fill the gaps with players who had performed well in the Premier League and were admired by the manager instead of getting absolutely nobody.
- City are not a club with unlimited wealth and when people talk like this, they sound like Guardian writers. We made a £70-odd million profit this year. We sold £139m of players. We can't just go out and spend £500m every time we go on a bad run of form.
- People constantly hark on about the price of Nunes and Phillips and they're not been relative to the transfer market. Moussa Diaby cost £50m now. Romeo Lavia cost £55m. Mount cost £60m. Tonali cost £55m. Brennan Johnson cost £50m. The idea that a £50m player should buy you a truly world class player is about 10 years out of date. £50m gets you a decent midtable level player who could grow into something nice which is exactly what Nunes is proving to be.
I doubt it.Most of us are thinking why have the signings been so poor over the last 2 seasons.
In all honesty, and without continual scouting, performance data and analysis, etc, of players that they have at City, is there honestly anyone on BM that would have wanted and would have signed either Phillips and Nunes for a combined total of £100mill?

No doubt if we do sign anyone, it will be the last day of JanThe players should already be here on January 1st.
