Txiki Begiristain set to leave role at end of season - OFFICIAL

Maybe I didn't phrase it correctly but we're essentially net spend champions of all the notional competing clubs when we shouldn't be. We've allowed the pack to catch up, money in the bank is worthless.
Happy if you want to send me any money you have in the bank

Is there an element of players not wanting to come to us because of the charges?
I wouldn’t want to go and start working for an organisation with something like that hanging over them.

Nobody knows what is going to come of those charges, not even experts in that field who are City fans, and certainly not random players from other clubs who we might want to sign who have no affinity or connection to our club whatsoever.

We are rightly proud of our transfer record, it's been borderline flawless, until recently. The recent missteps will cost us dearly.

But we bought Doku, Nunes and Phillips for £150m

We sold Cole Palmer (£42) Morgan Rogers (£4) and Pedro Porro (£17) for £63 in total, including the sell on fees for Porro and Rogers. Porro and Rogers actually cost us £15m combined, so profit was only £49 on those 3.

No disrespect to the lads bought, but we're down £100m in fees, and I think we end up with a real diminution in quality in key areas.

We also fell out with Laporte and Cancelo, and sold them for a song, they'd be a real addition now. I get it that Cancelo was an egotistical mard arse, but a fantastic player.

We've made very significant transfer errors, and that's what eventually kills a squad, spending money, but overpaying for inferior quality. Arsenal and United have been doing it for years.

We've had great successes in the market, but they feel like the older ones rather than the more recent deals...

yes, there is a big shift in our transfers. very few big hits recently. we were in for Raphinha but he opted for Barca. ended up with Doku. looking at the season Raphinha just having he already delivered almost 20 G+A since between August and today. no disrespect to Doku but he does that over two full seasons at City. about the same price tag.

we also were looking at Bellingham, Rice, Paqueta then pulled the trigger for Nunes. we helped Wolves more with that transfer than ourselves. dont get me started on Phillips the year before.

this summer, record revenue, big sales, even important first team squad player sold and we were happy with Gundo and Savinho as additions. way too comfortable despite knowing the extra schedule, extra injuries and just normal squad refreshment is needed after 4 titles in a row, new energy injected etc.

Gvardiol the only one feels a great signing recently, having said that he was top rated young defender at Leipzig, in his case I dont rate the scouting of him given his well known status(same as you dont need big scouting to think greatly of Wirtz or Musiala), more the fact we managed to get him and not let others beat us to him.

overall he did better on sales side than the incoming side. albeit the Palmer fiasco has to be mentioned as thats a hard one to swallow but Pep at fault there too. we didnt think or rate him enough and he proved us wrong.

Laporte was class. A big loss in my view.

Absolutely hit the nail on the head

Borderline flawless. Brilliant.
