Txiki Begiristain

Our frailties were exposed by Chelsea because we failed to address our very real defensive deficiencies in successive transfer windows. We should have had an adequate back up for Fern. As a result he has to play almost every game (well he can't now). Then there is our ageing fullbacks, and our purchase of Bravo, who is inspiring less and less confidence every week. Our seeming chasing of the Athletico central defender and Bonnucci were clear indications that we didn't have trust in Otamendi, but this should have been addressed long before now.

Our club is all about forward planning, playing the long game so that, in theory, when Pep arrived he would have the right mix of players. I can't see that this has happened, and in my opinion the buck has to stop with Txiki.

City will survive, dont worry about that.

So you would see off Pep and Txiki just because Otamendi was poor today? Because the other Txiki purchases, Navas, De Bruyne, Fernandinho were good. Pep's Stones, Sané and Bravo were Ok apart from Bravo who could have done better.

If Pep is only here because of Txiki and Txiki is only here because of Pep something is not quite right for me.

Well it's true. It's no secret Pep is here because Txiki convinced him to join, and Pep's been pretty clear he doesn't think much of us as a european club, he's said we don't have any history in europe more than once. He's here to transform the club, and I'm sure he'll come to love the club, the city and the fans, but he's a 40 year old catalan who didn't care about manchester city before joining. and we landed him because he'd be working in an environment where people who understand him and work well with him are there - unlike at Bayern where he didn't get on with the upper management.

Fernando, Garcia, Bony, Jovetic, Delph and Manuel Pellegrini you missed.

Sane at circa 40m might not be a great buy either but let's give the lad time.

txiki has had years to sort out defenders,he hasn't managed it yet. Stones was not good in my opinion and navas never will be. Sane had his best game for city And got slung for his troubles. if pep is only here because his mate is then maybe we'd be better off without him. No one is bigger than the club and i mean no one
