I do not think anyone could have predicted that Zabaleta, Silva and Yaya would be so poor this year and perhaps also Kolarov and kompany so injured. Not saying that these issues could not have been predicted just that the extent and damage these issues caused us could not have been predicted. Fixing these issues last year would have meant spending an insane amount of money or not getting some of the players we did and would have perhaps resulted in some criticism for getting rid of some of our favorite players too early

I'm pretty much on the fence when it comes to Txiki....Kev might be one of the best signings we've had EVER and still only in his first season so got to give him credit for that. After he was sold from Chelsea it would have been easier for us to think he couldnt make it in the prem but has turned in some great performances for us this year....If I give Txiki credit for the Kev signing, I've also got to call him out for his misses and for me its unforgivable to have 4 LB/RB's on the squad, all 31years old and over and no-one to step in.....We could all go back to last summer and read comments from most of Bluemoon that could see this was going to be an issue.....and clearly it has been in many games this season and when you add to the fact that we've all seen the decline in Yaya for the past 18months and havent done anything to help that position either....Txiki has allowed for us to get old and slow very quickly, with no forward thinking and if many of us could see this happening for a while now, there is no excuse for Txiki not to have seen it coming as well....The positions mentioned have cost us in many games this season and Txiki has to take some of the blame.

I dont have an issue if sometimes we sign the "wrong" guy....no one knows when an injury is going to happen or if a player can truly fit as a player in the prem until he arrives BUT what I can't defend is not even signing replacements for positions that have clearly been on the decline for a while......Many on here dont have football personnel experience but could have told Txiki, we need CM and LB.....and its those positions that have cost us over and over again!

I'm not sure I get the gist of this thread but is it basically that Txiki said to Pellegrini 'right you're having Negredo Navas Fernandinho Demichelis & Jovetic' & Pellegrini said 'No no no I want fullbacks' and then after Pel dropped Nastasic like a stone, next season he says 'I don't fucking want Mangala you **** Txiki, I'm happy with our centre backs, & he's shit, give me fullbacks' & Txiki says 'fuck you, I'm signing him for loads of money' then at Christmas when all our strikers were injured Pellegrini said 'get me some fullbacks for fucks sake' & Txiki said 'get to fuck, you're having Bony' then this summer Pel meets up with Txiki & they watch Otamendi & Pel says 'I hope you're not going to shit on Jason Denayer after promising him first team football, & sign this **** & lumber me with fucking Demichelis again, I hated the **** at Malaga' 'Bring some kids through ffs' 'What about these rumours of DeBruyne, Pogba & Sterling?' The media know nothing, they talk rubbish, they have to sell stuff, and t they changed their tune to a certain extent after the summer window. Finally re read what I said I am saying that the extent of the issues could not have been expected not the actual issue. I am also asking people to explain how they would fix the issue without spending insane amounts or not getting some of the other players we got and can you imagine the out rage on here if he had got rid of Kompany Zab and Silva and even Yaya and Sagna? Another problem is working out who is going to be affected the most by age for example full backs need energy but Zabaleta was not really seen as problem as much as Yaya Sagna and Kompany Although his issue is actually injuries not age. Sagna has probably been better this year compared to last year. Silva was also not seen as problem but his drop in form has been the biggest of all players this year
