Txiki & Pep met in Amsterdam yesterday

All good stuff, I imagine all the media jealous idiots will try to put a slant on it.. Exciting days for us though.

I'm in Bangkok at moment, come here twice a year to see suppliers at work ( no not doing the obvious either ). The people here love PL football and ask about it all the time. They are all talking about guardiola and how great it is him coming city and PL, it is embraced here as exciting times the way it should be. . All part of the master plan at city I guess to extend our publicity.

glad to hear that Pep makes an early preparation for next season. like someone said here, he will not have much time with Euro waiting in the corner. almost half of the squad will get extension leave and shall miss for the pre-season at China.

I guess quality goes without saying. It's still hard for me to see less than two in the back four two or three in midfield and one in attack.

What constitutes an overhaul these days? For me anything that involves five in like the summer of 2013 isn't far off an overhaul. Maybe better to call it a refreshing of the squad!

Agree with this entirely. For me the biggest concern is the fullbacks, it's one of the most important positions in a Pep system and if we don't address this I'm worried we'll continually see the same failings.

Bild tells that one of the results of yesterday was that Guendogan is the main target.
After his meeting with Guardiola, Txiki Begiristain was snapped talking to Ilhan Gundogan, who is the uncle and representative of 25-year-old Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

Telegraaf claim that Guardiola is “desperate” to bring Gundogan to Man City.

Could he be a replacement for Yaya Toure?

Gundogan is under contract at Dortmund until 2017, while the story has also been picked up by German tabloid Bild.

Brilliant news.

I think we have to trust Pep in terms of who he wants in which positions. I'm sure that there's a plan for the full back areas. Might just be that we bring in one full back and let one go. My guess would be that Kolarov goes and a LB comes in (unless Pep's got plans for Delph in that position which isn't unthinkable). On the right hand side much depends on how much they rate Maffeo.

Not surprised that the stories are beginning to seep out about who we want. I realise that you're not enthused by the idea of the Ox, but again, it's a case of trusting Pep and Txiki. There's a value in having a core of English players in your side which can't really be quantified. The question is always are they good enough, but that's where the manager comes in. I'm sure he isn't going to be picking players who he doesn't think have the qualities he requires, and equally if he's picking young player he isn't going to be picking ones unless he thinks he can improve them.

Gundogan, Stones, and the Ox would be a quite a start to the summer. Interestingly enough both the Ox and Gundogan have contractual issues which mean that their transfer fees won't be ridiculously inflated.
