What made it worse was that he could not be replaced by a goalkeeper. An outfield player has to stand in for him.
 
yeah seen that last night the Irish keeper unlucky. He started behind his goalline and moved forward. The ref was poor for it. I wouldnt mind that Irish under 17 team was playing really well. I got to say if these lads break into the Irish set up it will be good for Irish football long term but that is a big if. I think the sending off was crazy. The poor keeper was in bits going off.
 
It was extremely harsh. The keeper was on the line when the whistle went, and moved forwards as the ball was struck. Nearly every keeper in a penalty shootout does that, without a retake, let alone a booking.
