Uber London loses licence to operate

How'd you pay?

How'd you order an uber without the app?

You're lying. That's all it is.

I didn't order it the receptionist ordered it,the first cab came but we had 5 people in the group,so we couldn't fit in it
The 2nd cab came, the journey was 2.2 miles from the Premiere Inn
In Wandsworth to somewhere in Battersea
We traveled well over 2.2 miles, and as I'm from Manchester and not London
I didn't know how far we were going to travel, but we were informed by the hotel it would be "about £10"
To be then confronted with a charge of £21 was a shock
I paid £10 cash,he wasn't happy but drove off
That's the whole thing in a nutshell

And please don't call me a liar,you don't know me,as I don't know you

But you ALWAYS have something derogatory to say about most people/topics on this forum
that generally result is you insulting someone....now it's my turn

Wasn't an uber then.

You've just confirmed it.

Everything else is just noise.

Scum bag of a business
No proper checks of drivers and complicit in sexual offences in the way they don't deal with attacks.

Hope they get the same treatment everywhere.

The boss of Uber in the UK claimed the checks on drivers were carried out by the local authority not the cab operators.

No doubt this has been driven 100% by the black cab drivers and association who want to protect their own interests and of course, will now push prices up as demand increases.

As ever the consumer loses out.

Never use uber and never will, use the gett app for black cabs.

Manchester private hires with the yellow sticker only too, and when I order a private hire if a rossendale plated driver turns up I send it away, but I do always tell the firm first when I order I won't accept a rossendale plated driver.

The mayor of London was at the centre of a public backlash after transport authorities banned Uber from operating in the city.

More than 375,000 people signed a petition yesterday calling on Sadiq Khan to overturn a decision to strip the world’s biggest ride-hailing app of its licence. Uber had emailed customers urging them to support the protest.

Business leaders reacted by saying that London was being run by “Luddites” and creating an impression that it was closed to innovation. Transport for London (TfL), which is chaired by Mr Khan, was accused of “cronyism” by bowing to pressure from trade unions and black cab drivers who have waged a campaign against Uber for years.
