This cup scheme only policy is a complete and utter farce and I'm on the scheme!

Yeah, fair enough, they did warn us but I didn't expect it to be cup scheme members only.

What happens to someone on 6k+ points not on the cup scheme?

Shocking...hope they change it for the next 2.
ive got 7500 points but not in the scheme , never thought i had to, never go on the OS or to be honest read the junk mail from the club , got mates with more points than me who didnt sign up either and are furious , even mates who did sign up to it didnt know about the "no cup scheme- no away ticket rule" - first i knew about it was last week when ticket criteria for munich came out - days after i booked with Spike to Munich and Villareal -been to every european game home and away since TNS , my only hope is that Danny Wilson in the ticket office feels sorry for me and saves me a spare - why didnt i sign up, wifes new job means im gonna struggle with any mid-week match this season, but didnt realise it mattered coz thought i had more than enough points

I completely get what you're saying, but the supporter who has signed up to the cup scheme this year over people with higher points who have not is of more value to the club THIS season and is being rewarded for that. The club still recognise those with higher points providing they commit to cup games as others have done. My mate swerved the cup scheme as he works away, but when his seat starts getting sold to relocations and he struggles for tickets later on then he'll realise he's dropped a bollock as I tried to warn him.

Fact is whichever way the club sell them some will miss out if 3,000 tickets doesn't satisfy the demand. At least this season the club made it clear when renewing that members of the relevant Cup scheme would get priority for away tickets.

I'm sure non-CL scheme S/T holders will get a shot at Napoli tickets...

if the club still had the seat exchange scheme i would get on the CC and FA cup schemes then sell the tickets to the matches i cant attend , but as they dont it seems silly to pay £100's of pounds for tickets to matches i'd struggle to commit to

Lots of similar opinions but no solutions. No matter what the club do they can only please some of the people some of the time, they will never be able to please all of the people all of the time. I didn't get an official ticket for Groclin, lokeren, Shalke, Copenhagen, Midtjylland & Hamburg but i made it to the match. Apart from the Shalke match got in our end as well.

Surely not everyone in the cup scheme is planning on going to every away game? Can they not sell there tickets to other blues when they are not going?

and supporters clubs are they not allocated any for euro aways then?
the supporters club got an allocation for munich
seemingly regardless of points or cup-scheme

As i have said in other threads, this was the only way the club could sell it to the whole fan base, there will be very few people joining up for the champs league cup scheme on say less than 2500 points unless there was an advantage, i'd say for the 1 person who is disgruntled upset there are 7 people who are happy, makes business sense.

I've had a bit of time to think about this and have changed my tune a bit! What makes me laugh about Loyalty Points is that someone might have only started going to City the day the Loyalty Points system was introduced and has been lucky enough to be of an age (and therefore have enough money) to go to a lot of games over the last [is it] 11 years[?] Whereas there might be someone who went to every City game from 1965 to 1999 yet had kids, lost his job, moved away, retired etc.. and missed out on going to City as often as he used to when Loyalty Points came in.

Who's the more loyal fan? Someone who went every week for 34 years or someone who went a lot for 11 years? Well the Loyalty Points system would show you the man with 6000 Loyalty Points is more loyal than someone with 1500 Loyalty Points. But I'd strongly disagree!!

Now the time has come to allow younger fans who have missed out on 11 years of Loyalty Points because they were kids in school or people like the bloke in my hypothetical scenario above, to get one back on the lucky lucky people who fell just right to be a City fan of a certain age when Loyalty Pointe first came in.

I don't feel sorry for people with 6000+ LP's who haven't signed up for the Cup Scheme at all. I bet they haven't felt sorry for me when I've missed out on Old Trafford derby tickets because I wasn't part of the first few years of the LP system because I was a kid/student and had no money for that many games at the time and only got myself into a posiion to get myself an OT derby ticket two years ago for the first time through LP's.

Have to agree with you mate. There are loads of sob stories out there but after the FA Cup how did they not see this coming? I was bought my first season ticket in the Platt Lane at the end of the 60s next to noisy Helen and her flaming bell, spent my 20's and 30's going everywhere with the club and 20 years of season tickets was still just described as a regular so as far as the club knew I was a 5 year season ticket holder. So when I transferred over to the new ground that past history meant nothing. So now I'm in every scheme, have friends and family who use my ticket when I'm not about and luckily can afford it. One day I probably won't and then I'll be sharing tickets and scabbing them off friends. In the meantime I'm going to enjoy the ride.

So join the schemes and if you can't go then pass the ticket on to the next generation. But all seasoncard holders will be able to get a ticket for the Carling Cup Final!!! The futures Blue

another fuck up we can't get right.

we'll just put it aside with the rest.

this is just the beginning of it.

hence my post a few months back saying the club are handing things out willy nilly, and the top supporters could miss out on tickets and the new generation are getting priority.

everyone laughed then.

their not laughing now.
