The thing is as we have seen on social media etc, a lot of fans of the bigger teams are from abroad. Places like the Premier Leagues reddit is riddled with them, same with Twatter etc. There will be enough fans of certain clubs praising the idea to make clubs know that they can do it.I would have thought he approved it both for the reason above and because it's a good little earner for Serie A/La Liga which helps them try to bridge the gap to the PL - which could stave off the threat of the super league for a little longer. There's no way in hell fans in this country will allow games to be played abroad, so if Serie A and La Liga are more relaxed about it then they could try and breach that gap.
Get a little more TV revenue/sponsorship from the US/Saudi and boost their coughers that way.
At the end of the day there will be enough fake Irishmen in Boston and New York picking up tickets and sliding into pop up club merchandise stores.
It was only a couple of weeks ago when the Premier League had their watch even in Kansas city, with Sky Sports taking their broadcast there.
They even interviewed our fans there, and you could see which ones only started following us since the 2021 takeover as they answered Bruno as our best player in the Premier League and the others who have obviously followed us for longer were saying the likes of Shearer etc.
