UEFA Champions League Gameweek 5 | November 28th/29th

In April, the Uefa football board - an independent advisory group - recommended that "Uefa should clarify that no handball offence should be called on a player if the ball is previously deflected from his own body".

Keith Hackett, former general manager of the Professional Game Match Officials Limited (PGMOL), the English referees' body, told the Daily Telegraph that Uefa did not implement this recommendation for its own competitions.

"Last April, in their guidelines for the upcoming season, the Uefa board recommended that there should be clarity that no handball offence should be called on a player if the ball is previously deflected from their own body," Hackett said. "But this recommendation was not implemented - and Newcastle paid the price at the Parc des Princes."

Slow painful process but I don’t mind if they’re constantly evolving the rules to make it better/fairer.

Let’s not forget some refs would have blown up a pen pre VAR for a couple of them PSG penalty appeals - and no questions would be asked.
The rules don’t evolve, they’re manifested to suit. Don’t forget Qatari Al-Khelaifi, is the President of PSG, Chaiman of Bein Sports and Bein Television but most importantly the Chairman of the UEFA Executive Association. He’s also involved in Tennis. He was charged with manipulating TV rights along with his cohort but cleared whilst his “mate” was fined.

He was invited on the UEFA Executive committee by his pal Agnelli from Juventus, with the major intention of forming the Super League as they were envious of the Premier League. Hes a proper bent ****, no surprise PSG were given a helping hand, so to speak.

The decision had fuck all to do with their chairman, come off it.

UEFA has stood down the VAR who made the decision to guide the referee to give PSG their penalty last night.

Tomasz Kwiatkowskiwas supposed to be VAR for the Real Sociedad v RB Salzburg Champions League game this evening.

However, he has now been replaced.

Although UEFA are yet to make a public statement over the decision to award PSG a penalty deep into stoppage time against Newcastle last night, it is the clearest indication yet the think the ruling was incorrect

Newcastle didn't get shafted that is the handball rule in Europe! Howe had it right not moaning! All media moaning about it and var especially is so so boring VAR is going nowhere so media should shut up about it being scrapped! Better of going on about sacking the people who are on var
Also I take it you didn’t actually watch Howe’s pitch side interview

Well he said he thought the decision was incorrect, he didn’t moan Arteta like and the club certainly won’t be issuing any statements like Arsenal did. They’ll accept it and move on.
