But I’ve just made you aware that when I was growing up in the 60s, the English description was as I described.

This is pure EUFA.. I mean, UEFA. I went to check this on the history section of their website but it has been removed. I strongly suspect they are massively invested in rewriting and erasing all historical references related to them. There are clear attempts on sites like Wikipedia, for example, the page for the CL makes it extremly hard to spot that it was preceded by the European Cup. It's as if its ALWAYS been called the Champions League.

Well I never knew that. I always put it in the same kind of bracket as people writing "would of".

I was having a similar conversation the other day when the Radio5 Live commentator referred to the Centenary FA Cup final in 1981 when City lost to Tottenham.
The Centenary FA Cup Final was actually in 1972, and I can still remember the pre-match centenary celebrations with a line of youngsters parading the pitch in the various kits of the previous winners.
7 wore Aston Vila colours, and I recall 4 sky blue shirts for 1904 1934 1956 and 1969.

Due to the two World Wars, the 100th Final didn't arrive until 1981. However, that has since morphed into the Centenary Final

Could it be a translation thing. Ie casa blanca is white house, coche Verde is green car. Etc
Yes, exactly that. The French didn’t translate exact. ‘Union the European Of Football Association’. So being English we changed it. Irish teams did too.

I just saw the photo on the net. I knew I was right and just searched for evidence. I don’t think Celtic will agree

1914, come on the super Glens.

This is very quiet now. Makes me very suspicious. I guess the day before we play Tottenham media will have snippets about possible CL ban or even stripping us of the potential CL trophy lol.

I dont think UEFA see racism as a footballing problem, more of a societal problem.

And by the same token people investing their own money into their own venture isn't a football problem it's an EU issue that UEFA should keep their nose out of.

mmmmmm- strange it seems to have gone off the agenda, could mean it's serious. That said, I don't give a flying @£&%. They can't take away the joy and pride City have given me, since HRH took over, especially since Pep arrived. CTID.

Or on the flip side this delay makes it look like a thorough investigation is taking place, and they find fuck all.
