City statement hints at an additional legal battle
Oh yes, the below passage from our statement was very carefully phrased — take special note of a very curious word the club used that I have highlighted.

As I said earlier to another poster, the gloves are well and truly off now.

“Simply put, this is a case initiated by UEFA, prosecuted by UEFA and judged by UEFA. With this prejudicial process now over, the Club will pursue an impartial judgment as quickly as possible and will therefore, in the first instance, commence proceedings with the Court of Arbitration for Sport at the earliest opportunity.”

Exactly the phrases I was alluding to, yes. Those are there for a reason. UEFA has a LOT to lose. Their motivations better be the squeakiest-clean they can be.

Anyone want to take the bet that they are?

Wondering if this is brinksmanship to flex muscles in the mirror knowing they'll settle with City to avoid a protracted civil case. I will say that if I'm working investigations for UEFA, those emails would have embarrassed and angered the snot out of me. They've got to regain some face after that.

hints ? We are appealing it.
See last paragraph...

" With this prejudicial process now over, the Club will pursue an impartial judgment as quickly as possible and will therefore, in the first instance, commence proceedings with the Court of Arbitration for Sport at the earliest opportunity. "

First instance implie there's something else.

Our sponsorship deal was over inflated ? honestly is a 2 year ban worthy of that crime ? They were trying to find anything on us to kick us out and our lawyers be ready to fire

The term financial fair play is a joke.. why cant a club be bought and an owner invest into helping them compete ? seems unjust and corrupt to me.

I have always felt FFP was a clear breech of a free market.

Stopping owners investments in their own Clubs is wrong on every level.

It a creates an artificial Market where those who became financially established before FFP have a clear advantage over others. Anti - competitive.

This then has a knock on effect by stiffing the transfer market.Only those Clubs pre - FFP can afford the best players. Those late to the party only get the crumbs from the Table.
