Like all blues (and the media), I've been following this thread from the start and amidst all the speculation and "expert" opinion, which has almost universally been proved wrong, there's a fair degree of despondency brought on by a sense of impotence. I think that is because we need to focus. I hear talk about whether we are "guilty" or "innocent". That's a complete diversion from the main point that FFP, in all it's guises, is fundamentally wrong and marks the death of football. The establishment media are creating an illusion which even some City fans are falling for. This isn't an attack on City, it's a war on football, it's just that only the most courageous of those in te public eye and whose livelihood depends on it is ever going to say so. The media as a whole are collaborators in the biggest ever fraud on football.

So what can we do about it apart from wringing our hands and crying "woe is us" ?

Well, for whatever reason, we find ourselves in the resistance frontline. The first point is focus. No amount of speculation or "expert opinion" is going to help the club. Let the real experts get on with it and what will be will be. Arguing with a complicit media whose main "commentators" are purposely placed mouthpieces, lickspittles and stooges is pointless.

Our biggest weapon, and available to each and every one of us, is word of mouth. And I don't mean railing about injustice or wallowing in victimhood, no-one is listening and it comes across as pathetic. Everyone knows a non-united, liverpool, chelsea or Arsenal fan. Simply point out that if they support Wolves, Everton, Southampton... whoever, they are being conned. Not just short-term, forever. They will never, ever, compete with that cartel of clubs. In the 5000/1 chance that they do win the league, their best players, like Kante, for example, will be stripped from them and that will be that. If they enjoy being conned, fine, move on. But if you convince one person and they convince a couple of their friends, a groundswell will start and the product will, rightly, suffer.

The overall point is that this isn't about Manchester City, this is a fight for the future of football.
Great post Newman Noggs.

I started to realise this as the takeover developed as did the main stream media witch hunt. This started my slow, painful realisation that this isn’t just related to football too. I see the world in a whole different, more cynical way.
The most obvious example of how these weasels set the agenda is the treatment of Raheem Sterling since he had the temerity to leave Liverpool. In this politically correct world where racism is quite rightly demonised, I’ve never seen more overtly racist reporting and vitriol ever. These are the same outlets that would hang out to dry anybody in the public eye and the occasional ordinary Joe for stepping out of line with tweet or Facebook post that even hints at racism.
I definitely believe there is more than a healthy hint of institutional racism in the treatment of our club, whilst at the same time they pump their no to racism videos into stadium before the game and at half time. Hypocritical wankers.

Seems City were highly confident with their positioning prior to the ban and fine incoming.

Either that was because they were highly confident or maybe we just had a pair of deuces.

If we only have pair of deuces, well, its going to be a somewhat painful few years or so.....

If we are still highly confident then i just hope that confidence is based around dealing with

an organisation like UEFA, not versus the normal legal process. I feel maybe, interpretation

is likely to be a key word. Remember, the Laporte Handball versus Spurs? Well David Ellerary,

later admitted, how the IFAB current penalty law is written, it shouldnt have been a penalty but

as it was the interpretation of the law to disallow all goals following attacking handball, its OK.

This is the crux, when laws are applied to other clubs they apply the law. However, when City

are involved theyll find a way of manipulating the law, up/down/left or right to our detriment.

They moved the FFP goalposts first time around knowing full well it would implicate on City in

a negative way and we took the pinch. This time it will be the "neutral" 3rd judge @ CAS. I feel

the verdict will read something like, MCFC have proven that, from the start, this investigation

has been leaked to the press to the detriment of MCFC and for that we apologise and will look

at systems to prevent it in future. We also agree with MCFC, that whilst technically they are not

guilty of x and y. We feel that they are guilty in not following "in principle" UEFA regulations etc.
Nowt wrong with a pair of two's if UEFA have only got ace high, lets see what happens when City get going . No way this is cut and dried .....

Just read on PrestwichBlue twitter feed :

"City, by complete coincidence, are about to announce the Abu Dhabi CFG World Cup. Each of tbe 8 CFG clubs gets £100m for taking part, with £500m to the winner."

If this is true we should make it invitational only...

Its a tongue in cheek tweet I presume

I have asked for a link from the guy who posted it. Here is what was posted.

REVEALED: Manchester City's Premier League title in 2014 is now UNDER THREAT with potential backdated points deduction - and Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne and Aymeric Laporte could be sold

I haven't seen anything relating to it, so I think it may indeed be people taking the piss.
It’s in the mail and it’s all hypothetical but it will attract clicks, which in turn attracts advertisers which attracts revenue.

I agree - all pundits are disposing of our top players in a fire sale scenario..... Its only Mark Chapman I have heard preface any discussion with "subject to an appeal".

The other thing is IF it comes to players wanting to leave we want top dollar or they stay - no way are we going to sell to Bayern etc the instigators of this cabal.

Extremely unlikely in footy. But so what others say. If you Know we won them fairly that’s the important thing. You don’t have to persuade anyone.

I'd totally ignore any suggestions about this. It's media hysteria simply designed to get the more gullible rags and dippers buying their papers and clicking away. It'll never happen. There'll be no points deductions, relegations or title strippings
