I think they will have to relax the rules in both the Premier league and champions league. No club will turn a profit with match day income effected. I think I did see something on here the other day confirming that Uefa are relaxing the rules whether it is a loop hole we could exploit with extra investment to blow everyone out of the transfer market remains to be seen.

Just read David Conn's article from January 22nd in the Guardian, it does back up projectriver's assessment that he has been briefed with additional information possibly from UEFA.

It also reinforces a bewilderment at how the 2014 settlement can be reopened when it was clearly agreed between City and UEFA that the Etihad deal wouldn't be considered related, in exchange for us not increasing the other two AD deals, UEFA effectively put it to bed. Now I'm sure their argument now will be they wouldn't have done so had they known that Mansour was funding the Etihad deal directly, but considering they were debating whether to consider it as related in 2014 shows they already held this view point anyway and still went ahead with the settlement to my mind.

How CAS consider all of this is anyone's guess, I'm guessing the framework of said settlement could be instrumental in deciding this case now, if it was clearly stated that any issues coming to light at a later date could not void the settlement then we will be in the clear.

besides, he is 29. So I am sure the club will be looking at succession planning of an ageing midfield with young players.

Is already a better midfield than any other team has in England. Right now. Not even ‘could be’, it’s just currently world class.

Kev is 29 and he’ll be here until he’s 33. Gundogan is 29. Again, he’s not pacey, I can see him staying until he’s in his thirties.

The only midfield player we may need to sign in the next couple of years is a Fernandinho replacement. I don’t even think a signing is necessary; 5 players for 3 positions; 2 options in holding mid in Rodri and Gundogan, 4 options for the attacking mids with Bernardo, Phil, Kev and Gundo.

Jack G just doesn’t make sense - why sign him to replace Sane, one of the fastest wingers in world football? This summer we need a CB with a brain who can actually play football, a full back with a brain and a lightning fast forward to replace Sane. The midfield is fine even if we lose David.

He was the German league player of the year and miles and miles better than Grealish even then.
