UEFA and it’s cartel are a strange bunch.

The most they can ever do is slow City down. It’s too complicated to stop us.

They’re wasting their own time and money and risking everything in the process.

FFP is being recognised for what it is by multiple bodies. UEFA and the cartel clubs should be worried not us. If FFP is ruled illegal in a few weeks and it’s discovered which clubs were involved in it (say from leaking some emails) watch the panic.

Cartels are a really serious thing in EU Law.

You don’t go to prison for investing. Being in a cartel however.......

I think the business of 'slowing us down' matters a hell of a lot to them. Apart from Liverpool, Spurs, Arsenal, who are building (ish) teams the rest all have teams which are getting worse rather than better & they need to overhaul a significant number of players.

Having us out of the transfer market stops us from pulling further away, stops us from taking the best available players or being involved in a bidding war which costs them more money.

It's all about handicapping us, not stopping us.

We are very fortunate that at the moment our side does not need rebuilding

I am hoping that Man Utd don't make the top 4 because they are going to be rebuilding again this Summer. No doubt Liverpool will spend again too. They'll shut up about net spend in a season or two as the figures will be reversed.

Maybe PB can confirm but United may need to get some of their big earners off the books to seriously rebuild. They can’t have loads of wiggle room re their wage bill if they miss out in the Champions League - in respect of the PL version of FFP.

Have to agree with that. Unless they think they can see us off for good - which is highly unlikely even if we get a CL ban - they’re wasting their time. Throwing shit at City could even backfire spectacularly because I’m sure there’s plenty of skeletons in the closet of a number of clubs which could turn out to be more serious than anything we’re being accused of. With millions of leaked e-mails and the hacker in custody, this could easily come on top for those who are driving this. Just to take one example, there are plenty of rumours abound about certain referees during our 2011-12 title-winning season, one of whom suddenly retired towards the end of that campaign to go and officiate in the States, whereas another was removed from one of our matches during the run-in (West Brom at home I think). They’re playing a risky game IMO.
