Today in focus is a daily podcast from the Guardian and this mornings edition is all about City and the ban. David Conn is being interviewed and he is still stating UEFA's claim that Sheikh Mansour funded the Etihad money. Everything he says seems one sided with nothing offered to give City's side of the arguement.

Holier than though?

By suggesting it’s idiotic to want someone dead because they wrote a book you don’t like?

Jesus H Fucking Christ.

I’ll call out a fucking ridiculous post wherever I see it and feel free to hit the ignore button, whoever the hell you are.
QED.
I gave your original post a 'like', as I agree wholeheartedly with your condemnation of the fatwa. Its the follow up I dislike.
You dismissed a fellow blue with "jog on you societal cancer". Not good.

That was in direct response to an identical comment from the same poster (since deleted, or amended I think). So not good all round, but an understandable response imo.

don't waste your time listening to him.

I think we're pretty well protected from the PL stuff, and I assume that was the whole point of leaking the hacking agreement.

If they punish us for 6 year old stuff they'll have to punish Liverpool, they are already loathe to revisit it anyway and revoking a trophy would be a nightmare.
Hacking = FA. PL had nothing to say about that.

Was having a discussion about all this last night, I know our owner paid £210 million to buy us but how much has he spent buying Melbourne, New York etc..
How much has he put into this project and how long until he has his money back ?

We don't have an "owner" as such anymore, we have numerous shareholders. Sheikh Mansour is obviously the vast majority but we have major investors from China and silver lake in America. Mansour sold 10% of the group for $500m a few months ago so I don't think he's too worried

Greatest ever season by any club would be winning all four (including community shield) domestic trophies. Can’t be done

Sorry mate, I meant league season. If they break our points total and go undefeated all season, that would surpass our 100 point season.
Added to the possibility of also winning the FA Cup and retaining the Champions league. If achieved, that would make it the best season by anyone imo.

Now I think we will smash them at the Etihad. We play a far better style of football, but fair play to them, they have been like a machine for the best part of 2 seasons now.

Either way, it is rather strange of them to be having Podcasts about us when they are going through such a phase of success. It reeks of insecurity.

Edit - We win the Champions league, the fa and league cup this season. Added to what we have done over the last 2 seasons, it would totally piss all over them winning the league this season.

Interesting that Baz thinks we should ignore Tyson Fury's bigotry because we're judging him by our standards which is wrong.

Do you think he feels the same way about Abu Dhabi's ruling family? That we shouldn't judge them by Western standards?

I don't think it's a good excuse for either but at least I'm consistent.

Compare and contrast:
Our country founded in 1066 became a democracy in 1927.
Abu Dhabi founded, arguably, in 1971 have about 800 years to catch up !
Their royal family are not in complete control. Try to introduce changes to which the religious establishment object and they would be ousted.
Our royal family, in complete control, went about slaughtering ppl: e.g. harrying of the north, civil war.
Obvs liberal democracy is a far superior system, but I'll wait till 2771 before I completely condemn AD.
Was it Mao who, when asked what he thought about democracy, replied "Its too soon to tell"?
