In the long run, City want us to be one of the good guys. Starting a war with these journalist isn’t on their agenda. That’s what I think anyway.
This all day long, culturally our owners will be the silent strong type and will not stoop to the level the press or others have.
They will as other have pointed out play a longer game - and when it’s time for the press to wind their necks in over this one they will be brought back into the fold and welcomed without fuss, but knowing they have been let off and owe our owners big time.
It will be a painful slow burn, it will be horrific for fans for a while but it will end up with CFG and therefore city in a good place, and with power to wield in the football world which is above and beyond anything we can imagine, including having a big say at the regulatory and organisers table.
It will all play out - but the UAE guys do not mess around - have respect and belief in that no matter what is said during current speculation.
Also expect behind closed door dealings which are never made public - but above all expect us to come out of this on top - strangely considering what we are talking about; this is no game being played - it’s deadly serious and we are the big players barging in and about to change so much.
