Far too much is made of a Simon Cliff email that attributed the famous Khaldoon quote about 50 lawyers and £30m in 2014. Its just the sort of off the cuff remark someone may say in the heat of the moment. It's not even necessarily a direct quote.
I am extremely doubtful that City will challenge FFP - that ship sailed many years ago. I agree that subject to the current situation, FFP acts as a hinderance to competition to us because we are now at the top table. It would be disproportionate to challenge FFP as a way to avoid CL bans in 2020 and 2021 especially as no case could be completed before the end of 2022 anyway (realistically). As I have also said, I don't believe City challenged FFP itself at CAS this week. Finally, it has to be a strong argument that after 10 years (perhaps longer) of accepting these rules of UEFA, City will be prevented (estopped) from challenge. For that reason, we have one final appeal in the Swiss courts but its a super long shot and will likely fail.
