If you actually listened to the podcast it would be impossible to really complain about his coverage on it.
For a start, he didn't talk at all about football finances or politics, and secondly he spent 40 minutes with David Mooney & Jack Pitt-Brooke saying he thought we'd win the league unless the worst case scenario happens off the pitch.
It's just the usual people who have a bizarre obsession with attacking Sam Lee's every word since they found out he's a United fan, going off on another one.
Yep - and to be fair, I have absolutely no intention whatsoever of listening to an Athletic podcast with Sam Lee, so I won't comment on it's content specifically.
My post wasn't concerned with the pod itself, but was a comment on Sam's coverage on football politics and finances - which is not his strength. As I said already - I don't have a problem with him as a reporter on the game itself. I've enjoyed some of his reports in the past, and credit him with generally trying to be fair to the club - which is a quality in precious short supply amongst the media in this country!
I've just found him to be out of his depth on this issue - and I'd strongly question the solution he's sought to address this gap in his knowledge.
