Post of the thread, and the last sentence is the nub of the matter. A lot of people on here seem to be under the impression that because what City have done may not contravene the precise specifications of FFP as written, we are home and hosed. For me, they’re almost an irrelevance. This is the last and best chance our enemies (and I’m not talking about UEFA) have to get rid of us, not just for a season or two, but permanently. They will have already made their preferred decision clear to UEFA IMO and what the latter will be tasked with is coming up with a semi-credible vehicle to justify it. If that means inventing new bullshit about “the spirit of FFP” then I don’t doubt they will. Like you, I’m struggle to envisage a scenario, other than the obvious, in which those emails could have been taken out of context. These are utter bastards we’re dealing with. I don’t subscribe to the idea that UEFA will “investigate” this and then come up with a “nothing to see here” verdict, given the pressure on them from our rivals and the media. Court is where this ends for me, and that frankly is seldom more than a lottery. I hope we batter them

If UEFA basically make up new rules or try to stretch the interpretation of their exiting rules beyond reason, they will end up in court and I don't think that will be a lottery: I think UEFA will simply lose.

Ultimately, UEFA can't just punish us for the hell of it or because it suits the G14 etc.

I'm convinced CFG are wanting to change the game for the better both locally and internationally. Sadly we've trod on too many toes of clubs and complicit agents/organisations who feel threatened by our business model and are using all means possible to "put us in our box".

Yep. Why would 12 Premier League clubs want to know from the FA what punishment we could face, unless the terms of that demand were first agreed upon.

That points to either an in-house Premier League driver between a clique who have approached the rest of the clubs and have already drafted the demand (plausible)

Or, a massive coincidence that The Times, within just hours of the UEFA announcement have suddenly come up with a story, which can't be proved or denied either way (especially as they didn't have the stones to name the said clubs)

The Times are lying or have done the leg work themselves.

For three months we were being reliably informed UEFA had already opened an investigation, which has clearly been proved as bullshit.
Indeed. It was Ziegler at the Times who started all this by interpreting Ceferin's "...concrete case..." comment as meaning we'd been hung, drawn & quartered already. Someone's pulling his strings in my opinion.

United supporter here. I seriously doubt if United are part and parcel of this cowardly conspiracy.
We have always prided ourselves on welcoming competition and beating the new challengers. Unless of course it may be Woodward who is behind it over the inflation of the transfer market.
But it's just not the United way. Could b Liverpool though, They were fuming when Chelsea starting winning after Abramovic and Mourinho rode into town.
Haha classic

When do we play the institutionalised racism card because to me at its core this is what all this appears to be.

Our own chairman hinted at this 10 years ago in an article where he said “ all we want ti do is dine at the table but the door remains shut “ or words to that effect.

I have been looking for the exact quote without luck.

Anyone.[/QUOTE]

I'm not a major conspiracy theorist but I've no doubt that dark forces are at work trying to make City's life difficult. The problem they face though is that in the grand scheme of things you simply cannot stop a massively rich owner investing in his business in a capitalist society.
