I may have dreamt this, but, I thought for some reason the appeal had already been agreed it was inadmissible due to the reasons given today as soon as it went in?
or am I getting mixed up with press rumours at the time? Anyway I think todays (yesterdays) official result is more damaging to UEFA than it is to MCFC, CAS have forced UEFA's hand to push through the saga.

Thanks to everyone's input
Think you're getting mixed up with what the media said. They were right in theory but I reckon deals have been done.

Does anybody really think that the outcome makes any difference. If we win the case our enemies will just start saying ‘ we paid them off ‘ or the like. We have been found guilty by the press and the public even with a victory we wouldn’t change these opinions. People are not suddenly going to start thinking ‘wow City were innocent all along’ we should apologise for all the negativity.

Won’t happen sorry. The press certainly won’t apologise they will just find other ways to be negative. Think we have to get used to it!!

I think it’s really important that we finish this with an innocent & there are casualties from uefa, dippers, rags, Bayern, la liga & the shit housery media.

Does anyone else just hanker for the days when all we had to defend was the fact we had three stars above our eagle for 'decorative' reasons?

To be honest they were a lot harder to defend than our alleged financial 'transgressions'.

Liverpool's unpunished cheating of FFP in 2013 and 2015 come to mind. Especially the fraudulent offsetting of £35 million of FFP losses specifically against non-existent 'stadium development' for the non-existent Stanley Park Project in 2015. Now there's something for UEFA to get their teeth into...

...or the media

Am I the only one who wants no part of a horse traded or plea bargained agreement to satisfy that shower of shit in Lausanne so they can continue arse licking the likes of Tebas and Rummenige, Gill and Parry.
All or nothing, put up or shut the fuck up. If there's no evidence worth shit I want apologies and climbdowns for the way our club has been treated by these utter wankers. A firm shot across the likes of Der Spiegels bows wouldn't go amiss either, they've sailed a little too close to the wind on occasion. Oh how I would love to see some of these two bit social media shitehawks brought to book if they've been caught committing libel that would result in damages saught by the club.

Can you imagine if we have been collecting evidence for years & it becomes like a massive “me2” & these absolute cranks all start getting their just desserts.

As it’s announced you see a live feed actually working on City tv as all around the globe we have lawyers knocking on the door & serving summons.

better still maybe ex players Buzzer knocking on Gills door & shouting served ya c$&@!

See the beeb have reported cas threw out our complaint......small print says its because no UEFA sanctions have been handed out yet.....beeb makes out we are guilty ....cnuts

I’m happy to defend most things City but it’s hard to defend our participation in the Champs League. I’m personally not bothered if we got kicked out but it is very important tournament to our owners so I will defend our right to play in the CL regardless.

The reasons many of our fans don’t rate the CL have been well documented but I will add I’ve found quite a few of the opposition fans to be scumbags. From Schalke (those lovely Germans) calling us plastics and assaulting our fans to the cowardly attacks that were reported in Milan last week. Everyone’s got a minority of idiots of course but the CL isn’t all it’s cracked up to be.

I wonder if UEFA's route out of this is now to say that they believe we definitely fiddled the books but, had they known about this in 2014 when they issued sanctions, it wouldn't have made any difference to the outcome anyway, we've since been fully compliant and they believe no further sanction is required and the matter is now closed for good.

That way they can find us guilty and justify the second investigation, but reduce the risk of us taking further legal action. We then say that we don't accept their findings, we've done nothing wrong and the investigation was as a result of stolen documents but as we've not suffered any punishment then we won't be taking this further. Or we could just go to CAS, which wouldn't really have a major impact on UEFA or FFP even if we won.
In a sane world, that would probably be the outcome. But this is the world of UEFA, Senor Tebas, the obsessive John Henry, the sneaky Rick Parry, the greedy Glazers, and all the rest of the mad menagerie. It depends on how angry Khaldoon is with this slimy circus. He has used some pretty fierce words in the last year and may go for the jugular, insisting we should be completely cleared. Oh what expensive fun!

That's the puzzling thing for me. None of the journalists is asking this question. Something has been going on and my suspicion is that CAS & UEFA have been waiting for each other to make the first move. "After you". "No. After you". "I absolutely insist" etc.

If UEFA had made a final decision then CAS can hear the appeal (if they find us guilty & we want to pursue it) or can drop it (if not). On the other hand, if CAS do decide to hear the appeal before UEFA hand down their final decision then that could stymie any decision they make. I wonder if they finally decided to talk to each other with CAS agreeing to reject our appeal so that UEFA could announce their decision. That's what should have happened in the first place after all.

Or maybe (and this has just occurred to me) CAS felt there were serious deficiencies in the process UEFA followed, serious enough not to reject our appeal out of hand as they should have done, and were holding off until UEFA agreed to remedy some of the deficiencies and allow us to present the evidence we felt had been ignored originally by the IC in their haste to beat the statute of limitations. That would mean there had been some horse-trading behind the scenes between us, CAS and UEFA to get to this point.
I guess we will never know. Out of interest what kind of body is CAS? I assume it’s not bent like UEFA, free from the stench of people like Gill etc?

And don't forget the special Liverpool rule: "The money was spent by previous owners, so it doesn't count."

I think CAS is pretty sound. It is not a court but an arbitration service acting under Swiss law. Independent of sports bodies. They have more leeway than a court to horse trade when at the pre trial review stage. I would trust them, tho' not unthinkingly.
