How can the punishment in the CAS statement be fundamentally different to the UEFA statement though? How? I find it baffling. One says 2020/21 & 2021/22 and the other says the next two years that we actually qualify.

If a ban stands, be it 1 or 2 years, and the media/PL clubs get their wish for points deductions/relegations, then we end up being out of the CL for longer than the actual punishment.

Rumours are the FA might be reopening an investigation.

Probably true...I heard that they are looking to sanction us 20pts but those 20pts will relate to the 1905 season. However liverpool and united have lobbied the FA to say that the points should count for next season as well

So, what with the rise of inflation, those 25pts will turn into what...(i can't be bothered to do the math) but lets say a 10'000pt deduction : )

How can the PL punish us?, have we broken any of their FFP rules ?, I thought this proposed ban was purely for supposedly breaking UEFA FFP rules?,

Yes. only for UEFA although there are suppose to be clubs lobbying the PL to punish City this is lead by the ignorant

It can't happen and it won't happen.

The original case file is with regards the 2014 settlement, which covered bullshit breaches in the years before that.

For the benefit of absolute clarity, the Premier League's less stringent markers for spending came after that period.

If the Premier League want to accuse us of something after 2014, they are on even shakier ground than UEFA.

The only 'lobbying' going on, has been from certain journalists and outlets doing ring rounds of the all the clubs trying to agitate for a punishment in the first place.

Here's catch 22. CAS find in our favour on grounds of process, but make no comment on the substantive case.
PL then say: ah, they haven't been cleared, so we will enquire into the case ourselves. Then, of course, find us guilty of breaking PL FFP, aided by hacked emails supplied by, er, lpool.

I particularly enjoyed this little separate two par jab in Martin Samuel's Daily Mail column today...

When Manchester City were banned by UEFA there was much excitement that Sheffield United might get into the Champions League. And, yes, it would have been marvellous. Have a look at fifth place now, though. You didn't really think David Gill put all those hours in at UEFA so they could catch a break at Bramhall Lane, did you?

Nail. Head.
Funnily enough that particular head is a place where I would very much like to put a nail

Would you know which unsavoury people this would be, and to which unsavoury clubs they are contacting : )
