The days of £300,000 a week pay deals are gone , the way footballs authorities have tried to force clubs & players to finish this season no matter what will leave a very bad taste in the mouth of fans , fans who were already questioning how corrupt the game has gone plus the way everything seems to revolve round Liverpool & Utd May be pushed over the edge .
The silence from the PFA & the players regarding money has also been deafening , we aren’t going back to the way it was for a very long time .

I think it is as well to remember that Kevin was not giving a statement to the police and will never be questioned under oath in court on what he said, rather he was giving an interview to the media. We don't know what prompted these responses because some of what Kevin said is reported but none of what the interviewer asked and it seems that what Kevin produced was no more than a range of possible reactions to a range of possible circumstances. This like most such productions appears to be sondbites taken from an interview where the player doesn't take it seriously enough to give any profound thought to it after the initial "I trust my club".

I think we should also remember that none of the posts on here are official statements to the police either and prosecutions for perjury will never result. This means that members can pass on information in good faith and some members do pass on information which is interesting and important. It may not always be 100% accurate but that may be the failing of the source rather than the poster, or even simply the result of a rapidly evolving situation. I think just about everyone on here would agree that Tolmie has been a mine of truly valuable information not available from anywhere else over the years, and in my opinion his posts about the mood in Abu Dhabi have been of truly inestimable value. If however we were to take the view that Tolm need not bother posting again if we don't win the appeal/case he might just decide not to post again and that would be a disaster. No-one can be held responsible for the reliability of their source when that source is giving an opinion and when opinions might evolve. So, thanks Tolm, and keep the posts coming.

Unfortunately it’s the way of social media. Everybody has the right to judge, everybody’s opinion matters. People post something, if you don’t like it then the pack mentality sets in. Savage the poster. Anybody who doesn’t join in is “kissing his arse” or some equally stupid statement.

I trust my fellow bluemooners to make up their own minds. In the highly unlikely event Tolm is a serial fantasist then he isn’t doing me any harm. More likely is he knows some stuff, and like everything else his source has one side of a story and things change. Imagine if Bluemoon was around when Jeff Thomas (the Palace player, not sure I got his name right) was on his way to sign for City and he decided to stop off for a piss near Wolverhampton. Tolm would’ve been strung up!

Don't know why people are surprised by KDB's comments. He is very honest in all his interviews. If CAS endorse a 2 year ban then our key players will start angling for moves. Those with 3 year contracts may struggle to get out, but it will be a big problem for us to manage especially when one of the years may see us without Pep.

As for the case itself, its great to hear rumours that the club are positive of winning the case. I'm cautious that anything has changed as the case is still going to CAS no matter what Covid has done to change the landscape. Lets not forget both sides have liked to portray firm confidence of winning the case all through it.

Our problem is as always the elite clubs want us out and there is not a chance they will accept UEFA weakness after imposing a 2 year ban. I also find it hard to believe that the proposed changes to co-efficient ratings which will be based on 4 years performance ( of which we are currently banned for 2 of the years ) are a coincidence.

Not necessarily ,we know that UEFA has been out to get us for nearly a decade, they have a lot of power and influence,we might have to take it past CAS,how long the players leave it before jumping remains to be seen

I hear you, but have the players who've come here to enhance their careers and win trophies "known" and felt this way this about UEFA as long as we have?

I think that's pretty unlikely.

If KDB or any other player wants to reassess their future at any time it shouldn't be any surprise, local players they are not and loyalty is a rare commodity. If a couple of hundred thousand pounds a week wont keep them happy then we've lost it as a sport, imagine someone paying you that much and you have to think about it.

We can be a bit naive when it comes to thinking players think of this club like we do.

True, but he should have said nothing.

People just need to remind themselves when doubts are raised.

Who does that serve? What has coincided with all these attempts to hurt their good name and that of the club?

That's right, the temerity to be competing with the so-called elite for trophies.

Hold fast that which is good!
The last line is Trafford councils motto. Hope you are not confusing us with our nearest neighbours. :-)

Why, he’d have looked pretty stupid when asked if he didn’t answer with the bleeding obvious.
He could have stopped at i trust the club,at the most we will have to see what happens

Bernie say the other day that he wouldn't turn down an offer to play in spain,i put it in his thread, just now is not the time for this stuff from players you would think would know how that is going to get seized on

That’s really disappointing to hear. I’ve always admired his professionalism and commitment. Those comments, if true or as he indeed intended, show neither.

It's being reported by multiple news outlets.
I ask because we do not know how the interview was staged. We’ve seen on numerous occasions how responses are reported out of context or stitched together to form a headline. If that was part of a one question answer then it is a little disappointing but, if it was multiple questions to force an answer then that is a different ball game.

Don't take too much notice of what a player says once as a throwaway comment in an interview he probably doesn't want to be doing....whether it's positive or negative
