Remember all those times when Nicky Reid would sprint out of the tunnel, letters missing out of the North Stand scoreboard, but the tannoy would always play loud and proud...

The Boys in Blue never give in!

Even if we’re playing down at Maine Road, or even at the court of arbitration...

I can’t help think that some of football is rotten to the core. As a result I don’t think city will win this. The establishment won’t allow it to happen. Fear the worst and hope for the best.

Wishful thinking

Agree with that Stefan however having listened very carefully to your 93:20 pod & subsequent written version, it would appear that the case could be statute barred. Which could surely cut it dead. I know you said that it was such an obvious error that you worry ! Thoughts please
Just waded through the previous CAS judgement, hard going but understandable!

Thanks

Dark forces involved here, have a feeling it will be upheld because what we are against however, when it does I think we will unleash hell. Its a long game.
The dark forces will not influence CAS.Their baneful prescence will not be there. So they will not affect this verdict, but will wait until the next time.

Tolm is bob on.

Fuck that.

We are innocent and nothing less than that will do.
Yes he's right. From a narrow point of view, I'd probably take a 1 year ban but when you think about it, Man Utd and Liverpool and their boys in the media will just keep up their incessant criticism. There can be no middle ground.

(I notice that the Newcastle takeover - an authentic state takeover, as opposed to one state functionary - has barely been discussed which kind of suggests that their concerns about nation state's investments in football were a complete sham).

Some interesting and well informed comment in this topic in recent days. Thanks to all concerned.

General point. Neither side really wants to go to CAS (whatever City say). If City's advice was anything but confident and strong, they would have found a way to settle this matter (today if need be). That is not to say the advice is "you will win" but it must be advice that they should have the best of the arguments. I'm pretty sure UEFA would happily take a one year ban - if we really thought we were likely to lose, I think we would take it.

Just a thought, I wonder if we would be OK with just accepting a fine with NO ban, or would even that be an admission of guilt?

It may cut it dead but only having considered all of the case. They won't stop it half way through and say "I agree, case closed"

I'll drag it into the gutter Marvin if it all goes tits up ;-)
Touch wood, fingers crossed, no walking on cracks or under ladders !!!

Depends how the fine is described, e.g.
"City are fined x for a technical infringement. Uefa accepts there was no intention to deceive or break ffp rules."
"City promise to be more careful in future."(!)
PS I wonder what Ceferin's offer was.

Settlements generally are not an admission of the breach or "guilt". In fact they usually specifically say the exact opposite - ie that the parties don't accept any breaches actually took place.

How do these hearings by video work, will all our legal reps be together at some location?

And how long would the working day generally be at a hearing such as this?

Thanks.

Varies but I suspect 10.30-1 with regular breaks and 2-4.30. Suspect City's team will try and be together now Covid has subsided yes.
