I'm pretty sure the Open Skies case proved it was ADEC (not ADUG) that stepped in to meet the liabilities of Etihad. Furthermore, the reference to 'HH' in an email written by Simon Pearce was not Sheikh Mansour; a key distinction in local etiquette that Pearce would have known.

No it didn’t, all that proved was that Adec were covering some of the other sponsorships (Well, not even that, just that it was a proposal mooted in 2010 and Etihad denied it actually happened). I didn’t say anything about the reference to HH, in terms of the emails, they explicitly state ADUG direct to us, which is the key bit.

Interesting take from the MEN that UEFA could appeal a CAS decision in our favour to the Swiss Courts themselves, now that would make the next few years interesting!

I know it’s probably been explained to me already and I lack the financial savvy to understand it, but this just seems to be at the heart of everything to me, and everything else about City having bona fide accounts, etc, etc, is just flim flam.
Did Sheikh Mansour directly fund Etihad out of his own pocket with a view to Etihad then returning that money to City’s coffers as sponsorship? And if so, would that action constitute a breach of FFP under the broad church of owner investment? Somebody help me please.....!

If he put money into Ethihad, they were in financial difficulty and needed money to pay salaries aviation fuel bills etc etc these are contractual obligations. How can they prove his money was used to pay our sponsorship which is also a contractual obligation when they could have paid us out of money they got from customers.

Thanks for clarifying this for me, I was mistaken.

It's hard to imagine that emails alone involving one board member should satisfy the burden of proof necessary to hit us with such a punishment.

Monica - MCF(Q)C. Looking at the profile of hers and that Harris fella - I would say we are in good hands.

Sounds like we're using the company behind that Jason Bourne set-up.

Harris? Nick, Rob or Harry? Please don’t use that name, gives me nightmares.

You know I’m not savvy on the complexities of ffp or CAS and legal technicalities, but we are all on tenterhooks over this City v uefa case and won’t know the outcome till July apparently, but with this information that we are negotiating for Havertz or trying too, could this or possibly other transfer targets we pursue that it could show we are extremely confident in the outcome of the CAS case ..edit should maybe have worded it better,as in if we start to pursue players in a few weeks time it could be a sign we are confident that CAS will rule in our favour, players wouldn’t be as willing to possibly sign if a 2 year ban is hanging over us ...

That's my hope and reason for posting.

Alternatively, we might just be trying to get our ducks in a row just in case.

What’s I find interest is we are using Lawyers from Blackstone Chambers.

Charles Flint QC is part of their board and also works for UEFA’s AC chamber primarily dealing with FFP. I wonder if he was involved in City’s case at all?

I'm sure he also sits on a legal body in the UAE?

Edits - shit, he sits on the board of Dubai's financial services body...

I hope he is the casting vote ❎
