Just finished reading a thread on twitter containing possible or probable ramifications if the appeal is dismissed or even part dismissed. It goes down to the subsequent domestic investigation and punishments which could/would follow...

Starts with the CL ban (ok)
Big fine (ok)
Points deduction for this/next season (still ok)

But then goes on to talk about the very real possibility of 2014 and 2012 titles being stripped? What? I didn't even know this was remotely an option. Nerves kicking in after reading it, hopefully it's BS.

Well we’ve heard nothing directly from the club on this, but it sounds plausible because why would Ceferin be at the Shakhtar home game back in November? I doubt he was just road testing the vol-au-vents!
Why is a uefa official attending a uefa match that big an issue? And I doubt he was testing the vol au vents as I am sure robber harris, slyman stones, James fucker at al will have got there first

Controversial take...

Some of our fans will be secretly annoyed if we don’t get banned. You know the types. Those always desperate to be contrarian and appear unbiased. It’ll ruin some of their potential ‘I told you so’ blog entries that’s for sure.

those desperate media type blues are always first to put the knife in.

I can`t understand all the gloom and doom on this thread.Never have I felt so confident of City being exonerated of any wrong doings in this case.
As soon as we heard from Khaldoon and then Sorrinano my spirits were raised ten fold.
Yes I firmly believe that UEFA have failed in their miserable attempt to charge City with charges that were "trumped up" IMO.
Come on fellow Blue Mooners wheres your balls/backbone and think positively for once in your sad lives.
City will be fine.
You heard it here first, from the Oracle Oakie. ;)

I think your first line was the answer, it’s on twatter

I would like to believe that the decision CAS arrive at will be fair and just based on the evidence supplied. On that basis I tend to think that if they find us guilty then we are guilty, and if they find us innocent then either we are innocent or there is insufficient evidence to find us guilty (in which case i'm happy enough to consider us innocent).

I know the world isn't always that black and white. But if we're found guilty i'm not sure it's worth pursuing it further.

Please god let us be found innocent, with a statement along the lines of no evidence to the contrary rather than insufficient evidence.

If it is the slam dunk, it will be the first time in over fifty years of following this club, that anything has been straightforward.
That's what makes being a blue unique. What a strange bunch we are, coming back for more mental torture time and again.

Fully agree. In fact I reckon that both UEFA and the club will have been given the verdict today and we would have heard in the form of a leak from City to a sympathetic press source if the result had been negative

Dramatis persona surely

Anyway, any chance you can do another one of your posts where you ask why people are discussing things in a discussion forum?
Yeah of course, why are you discussing things on a forum for discussion?

but genuinely though, my issue with it is someone leaping to your defense like he did, not actually arguing what the post said just that it was said. That’s not a discussion, it’s a circle-jerk.

I hope this isn't going to come back and bite me on the backside but I'm going to post it anyway.

Was just thinking about the story that the ban will be "suspended", which has been dismissed by some of us as unrealistic but might fit in with something else I heard, which I'd also dismissed. We know that the journalist who is reporting the "ban suspended" story is close to Aguero and I'd heard recently from a contact that another first team player had said that we'd won the case. I discounted that story as although it was given to me in very good faith (a) I couldn't corroborate it and (b) it was third-hand (i.e. x told y, who told z).

But what if the players have been told we've won (rather than we're confident we're going to win, which is a different thing) and in the translation from Spanish, "the ban will be overturned" became 'the ban will get suspended"? A bit like Ceferin's "concrete" case actually being "specific" case. Interesting thought.

G14, cartel blah blah. IMO (tin hat on), we need to give this stuff up - if we lose the club have screwed up. Let's be clear and honest, we would act exactly the same as the competition if, lets say, we win at CAS (or even if we don't) and in 5 years Newcastle have started to threaten the status quo. It's a competitive sport - people lobby as it leads to relative gains.

Disagree completely about City and Newcastle.

There's no way City under the current ownership would lobby against a Saudi owned Newcastle.

One thing is for sure is if we are exonerated we need a banging song that takes the piss out of UEFA, United/Pool/Bayern etc. Something fast paced that gets everyone signing like the Bernardo song. The feeling of euphoria and defiance should we be cleared will keep me going for years. I’m anti establishment at the best of times, but when the establishment are an organisation who have had its members arrested for corruption - I’ll be singing loud and proud in 30 years time how we fucked UEFA and made them love it.

Hope that's true but just in case wear your armoured undies next week

Sounds possible, but how about the timing? How could the decision have been known at the time?
