reporting on the BBC website that it could go both ways ??

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53366098

from what i have heard this week and its not from the club ? city did a deal and the 2 year ban will be lifted and suspended for 2 seasons, and the fine will be cut in half a city agreed to a 3 year period of having to show uefa the books, also admitted to some sort of blame in failure in understanding the rules not cheating ??

this is quoted on the BBC report above ???

but like many on here manchester city wanted to clear our name completely from the start so why do a deal with uefa, i don't get a deal myself and from the start people at the club have said we have done nothing wrong and will stand by that

so for me there is no middle ground here and manchester city have to win without a deals or questions, they will be asked by the fans and media on the full no wrong doing qoute they have stood behind only to cut a deal

I have not seen anyone anywhere suggested we did a suspended deal. Please provide a source A deal has been mentioned

I do not understand the link you posted as it does not seem to suggest such a deal but I think your saying it does ?

Could just as easily be Pep flagging the reasoning behind the CAS decision. Presumably if Pep knows the decision, he will also know the basics of the grounds for that decision. Mind you, I suspect I'm straw clutching a bit there because I can't really pretend to like the sound of it as it's described here. Doesn't exactly sound like something anyone would say about an exoneration. In what context did Pep say it was " great, great news"?

I wouldn’t waste too much energy trying to work out what he actually meant. He’s highly sarcastic in interviews with a soupçon of mischievousness.

Based on Peps quotes.
He said he was very confident that we will be playing CL football next season.
So now you think we've lost.
just come in from work so not caught up

'''He said he was very confident that we will be playing CL football next season'''

if pep has said this^ then we have been cleared, hes not going to come out with that if he knows we have lost

But surely if Pep knew and he was trying to distance himself I very much doubt he would follow the pretence of saying how confident he was.

If we have lost, which would be a huge blow to him and his team, there is not a chance the club would allow, or Pep would choose to answer questions, on a subject and pretend everything is ok.

Could you imagine the discussion. We have lost the appeal Pep but would you mind going out, facing the press, and say how confident you are and how you have took a keen interest and are convinced were innocent.

Little choice when to avoid would fuel the fire that we've lost, if we're trying to control a losing narrative we have to act bullish.

Glad it wasn't just me noticed that , beginning to think I was hallucinating , wishful thinking , had to rewatch the last bit just to verify he said what I thought he said...

I missed that so just rewatched it.
“Great, great news for us”.

Theres something odd in all this that I can’t quite put my finger on. Pep saying he will “give his statement” after Monday suggests he already knows what he wants to say.

Obviously In terms of basic outcomes there can only be a ban or no ban, but it’s nagging me that when this is announced there will be an element of the judgement from leftfield that no one has called - hence the almost inconceivable level of confidentiality around it.
I don't think so but agree something odd about it. Perhaps, as hard as it is for some of us to believe, they really haven't been told and won't be before 9 tomorrow.

Will be interesting to hear the details - more than possible it’s messy. Wouldn’t surprise me if City get scathed for being difficult in their communication with UEFA, the evidence of the accounts may be absolute (that it came from the Special Council) so we may be cleared but still come under fire. I think UEFA run the risk of getting an absolute bollocking for the tone of their communication with us and the leaks and the flimsy foundation for the charges.

My wet dream is exoneration followed immediately by statement issued stating legal proceedings against UEFA for damages for the leaks immediately after the treble.
