Or his comments about it being a long time ago had no greater meaning than his own personal frustrations.
Don’t read to much into what he says
It was a long time ago ....it was

we are confident and deserve to there on the pitch ie we played well and qualified ... we have won.

I am convinced
He knows no way he doesn’t and no way he would continually be positive
Re I will comment tomorrow...this is bullshit and always has been a witch hunt and UEFA are c****

considering it was going public on Friday then re aranged to the Monday i dont beleive for one minute the club are not aware of the outcome, this is going public at around 9-30, the club is not getting notice an hour before i just cant see it

MUST.SUPPORT.CITY... it's this kind of blind obedience that we criticise Liverpool supporters for. The club can be wrong, but it's still our club. You really must learn to exercise free will and engage your critical faculties.

I am not asking for blind faith but if you have looked on here the evidence is fairly strong that we have not done anything not that we can really know but if we have done something wrong accepting that as I will tomorrow if necessary is very different to basically saying we are guilt even if we are cleared. Thats just contradictory and stupid. Its also a lot worse than the people on here who are nervous and fear the worse thats completely understandable.

Pep's lines about it being a long time ago reads more like him being pissed off about the whole thing than anything about the outcome. If he knew we'd been banned why would he keep saying how confident he is?

having heard the interview, rather than reading quotes, the question was along the lines of "having seen the defence, is that what makes you so confident?" and he was then describing what he understood of the issue, so it was less deflective than it appears in writing.

Because the usual protocol in civil arbitration cases is that both parties get advance notice of the preliminary draft verdict on condition that they both agree to a strict embargo for when this is revealed to the public. Sometimes the parties even get a chance for some basic fact checking to ensure no stupid errors (name spellings etc) are made.
I have been involved in these sort of cases in the UK and it is very common for the draft to be sent to the parties lawyers on a Friday for release on the Monday. In my experience it often arrives late on the Friday stressing everyone out because they have to work over the weekend on the Communications and Media response which is very complex for a group like CFG with so many stakeholders. The Directors at City and UEFA will have known by Friday at the latest but they can't breach the agreement to keep it under wraps till Monday. The details of the judgement usually come many weeks later and this may be frustrating for everyone.
Even UEFA is supposed to do this as part of the FFP process. It leaked 2 days before the final judgement last time.
UEFA is so leaky that some of the usual suspects would be crowing by now if a ban was incoming, unless of course something extraordinary has happened to UEFA governance since the last CAS City v UEFA verdict in December 2018.

All the press are running the interview with Pep which uses language that pretty much tells you that we have lost. So not sure what you mean about backing the wrong horse ?

Not sure what PR games City have tried to play this weekend but that Pep interview sums it up
Quite a few journalists have been pushing for us to be punished for years, a few of them has been used by UEFA and our rival clubs. These cats will sleep as bad as us tonight.

To be fair I'm not sure he's allowed to talk about the specifics of our defence, so it could be a fobbing off bullshit answer. But i take your point.

This whole 90% of the staff etc not being here for the period in question.

What if rather than distancing himself he is merely pointing out the ridiculousness of UEFA trying to punish a club for something that happened years ago when the club and execs were different.

Maybe he’s saying we are innocent (which he does say) and you were daft for trying to pin something on us.

Eternally optimistic. Night blues

Well, I mean it in terms of it's Pep's usually peculiar long-winded way of saying "it happened a long time ago, the people responsible aren't involved, and the club are confident that in any case we've done nothing wrong" but as always with Pep, there's additional words in a slightly clunky context.
